Diana's Quest: From Princess to Peasant

Diana's Quest almost hits the mark multiple times, but falls short. As an eroge, the CG collectibles are forgettable and short (at least there's no time for horrible sex dialogue). If you miss a CG and don't have a save available you would have to rerun the full game to get a complete gallery (gallery shouldn't be restricted just to a single save but accessible to the main menu, as is standard for many eroge). For the combat part of the game, the novel "outfit selection" combat is fairly enjoyable, but doesn't give you enough opportunities to encounter areas that push the player to try them all out. The story cuts itself off prematurely in such a way that the sequel shouldn't have been a different game. If it was all in one there would probably be enough of a complete arc to actually let the player fully make use of the outfit systems. The game has a fast travel system in the first half of the game, but the fast travel points are almost entirely useless. All in all, it was a good attempt but felt stunted.

Diana's Quest is a very short game that can easily get 100% completed in 4 hours. I think it's an alright H-Game that tries things, but there are also some glaring issues. If you don't like grindy repetitive games, I don't think this game is for you. One of the parts I disliked the most about the game is how grindy and repetitive it is. I probably spent 80% of my playtime fighting the same 3 monsters re-used in the entire map to max out the different outfit skills while doing the secondary quests and main story. When I reached the point of no return in the main story, I had 3 outfits maxed out and had to pause finishing the main story to grind the 2 other outfits. The story was so short, it didn't give me enough time to enjoy the maxed outfit system. The story is also a bit generic, and the situations Diana found herself in to have an H-scene felt kind of rushed and forced. For a pure princess that sells her body almost instantly after the intro of the game, Diana doesn't seem to care at all about what is happening to her, and that took me out of the story. I would more or less recommend this game. The game takes around 2 hours (4h for 100%) to finish and is a standard RPG Maker game. The story is what you would expect; the main difference is the armor system that changes your abilities and passives depending on what armor you're wearing. At start it might feel novel, but later it's just okay. The game might be challenging if you're trying to skip most of the enemies, since then you will be low level fighting the last boss. However, if you're killing everything in sight, the game becomes easy really fast. Adult scenes are okay, but because of them I had to play the entire game again since I missed one. Also, if you wanna have access to them later, you need to get all on one save file and after beating the game.

I give the creators credit. This is a nice first attempt. But the story is really simplistic, the H-scenes are not that interesting, and the outfits themselves require an insane amount of grinding for AP to unlock all the skills. I know they got the message about the last because the sequel (played it off Steam) did reduce the costs greatly. Get this when it's half off or more and it's a good deal, otherwise skip it.

The game has forgettable cutscenes, the gameplay isnt bad but there isnt enough to play over 5 hours.
