Dictatorch: I've S.E.E.N. you is a really strange little adventure game, and I think the best way to describe it is as a short story where I have to work things out for myself. I play as a retired art thief who ends up stuck on an island controlled by a dictator whose identity is basically a mystery. The setup is ridiculous, but it gives the game a lot of personality from the beginning. The exploration is probably what I enjoyed most. I can walk around the island, talk to villagers and look for things that might help me progress, and there are different areas that only start making sense once I have gathered more information. I like that the game does not constantly point me towards one obvious objective. I have to actually pay attention to what characters tell me and think about what I should investigate next. The fact that I am playing as an ex art thief also fits nicely because some situations can be approached with a bit more sneaking and careful thinking rather than just walk…
