About Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You
You're a government surveillance analyst tasked with sifting through citizens' digital lives to identify terror suspects, deciding which invasive information reaches security forces and shapes their fates. This thought-provoking narrative game explores the moral weight of power, privacy, and the consequences of unchecked surveillance through choices that feel uncomfortably real.
Orwell is a new governmental security program that has the power to survey the online presence of every person in The Nation. It can monitor all personal communications and access any computer. To preserve the privacy of citizens, human researchers examine the data Orwell finds and decide which pieces of information should be passed on to the security forces, and which should be rejected.
Selected from thousands of candidates, you are Orwell’s first human researcher. And when a terror attack rocks the Nation’s capital city of Bonton, Orwell, and you, are immediately put to the test. Starting with a single person of interest, you'll help the security forces build out and profile a network of potential culprits.
But are these people really terrorists? What does the information you reveal to Orwell say about them? What if you find out things about them that not even their loved ones know? What is the real price of maintaining the security that the Nation is yearning for?

Very fun short game.
This game really made me think about politics and freedom in general. 10/10 game
A small interactive story of surveillance and it's dangers. You play as a government big brother looking for incriminating information in the internet so it is text heavy (although game-relevant info is highlighted) with light "research" if you want to get into contexts. A lot of the times the story needs specific info to progress, so options for creative information input are limited. There's some choice in how the story progresses, but mainly it's in the finale. It's an okay experience experiment on surveillance state, but thought provoking only if this is a scenario you haven't given much thought before.
Interesting story, but the gameplay gets repetitive after a while. Got this game for free years ago during one of the Humble Bundle's giveaways. The soundtrack is great, and the story kept me interested from beginning to end. The game touches on themes that still feel relevant today. after seeing all the endings, I couldn't say either side was completely right or innocent... not even myself. Definitely worth trying if you like story-driven detective games.
