Despotism 3k

I'll admit this was a hard one to categorize, but I'd recommend picking this up on a large sale. The big issue with it for me is ultimately the size of the game. The random events that pop up actually have "correct answers," you just sort of have to memorize it and get used to doing that over repeated runs. To me, the problem is that you get like 6 upgrades, and they all do the exact same thing; which is add more arms, or add more spots for humans to take up, with the exception of a couple of upgrades that provide a different effect (storage upgrade improves stamina). And that's really all there is to the game. I think it's a fun idea and a funny game, but I can only give a tepid thumbs up on this one.

I got this game who knows how long ago, I think for free, and have played it quite a lot, so I think it deserves a review. It's a pretty simple game. You are a robot in charge of people aiming to keep producing power. Every few 'days' there is an event. The story is a bit weird if I remember correctly. It does get a bit repetitive though. Overall, I would rate the game about a 7/10, but with its price, I would highly recommend, especially when it's on sale.

Overall, I find the game a bit lacking with content. It is a roguelike resource manager, which is interesting, but it feels like there isn't enough to really make it an interesting game as there is low variety between each playthrough. The pros are the humor. Lots of pop culture references, and not taking itself seriously. The cons are a brutally difficult curve and things cascading out of control very quickly, and lack of replayable content. All runs feel the same and that you are trying for the same kind of thing in the same way., Overall: It's fine, though I can't recommend it as the gameplay itself is a bit lacking.
