What if you could join your friends and explore places you never went before?
DiveReal is a social virtual world: people get in primarily to meet and talk to others. But unlike its classical counterparts, it does not rely on servers to put people together. Instead, DiveReal uses an overlay that grows as more people get in.
For the user, this means a different experience: the world is not anymore divided in "rooms", "islands" or "realms" but accepts everyone, possibly millions, in a unique seamless space.

Take a tour in Paris, walk on the streets of New York or dive in Copacabana! On desktop or in VR, dive in the real world and find your favorite places.

What's this is supposed to be even? You have a 3d avatar that is walking around on top of images from google maps LOL that's all there is to it. There is a shady launcher through the cmd requesting internet access, the site where you create your avatar looks shady as well.12 found this helpful
It's a fun idea, and the people who are making it are friendly, they talk to you on their Discord/in-game and they are working hard on this! I think it's going to keep getting better and better and it's a fun experience! :)5 found this helpful

Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, DiveReal is a software application that shows you, I kid you not, a bunch of outdated Google Streetview views. Basically this is someones's set of diving related Google Maps bookmarks. You can put a character overlay on it if you want and see if anyone else is looking at …2 found this helpful

Игра "DiveReal" — заброшенный проект с амбициозной идеей погружения в виртуальный мир. Изначально обещала захватывающий геймплей и уникальную графикой, но разработка остановилась на ранней стадии. Пользователи столкнулись с багами, незавершёнными механиками и отсутствием поддержки. Проект стал символом неудачного эксперимента: талантливые идеи, но недостаток ресурсов и планирования. Для фанатов VR — урок о реалиях инди-разработки.
