This game is more an Indie game, but the creator has managed to level the playing field against the AAA game producers with some nifty tricks. I don't approve of using AI in general, but in game development it feels like how can one person, or a few people, compete in a meaningful way with the AAA companies and their million dollar game budgets? AI artwork and writing can fill the roles that are missing. It is my hope that if Erannoth Renaissance really gets going, and then the artwork and writing roles filled by AI would eventually be replaced by human creations. I have noticed that recently a lot of the writing in game has being re-written for conciseness and readability by a human. The game gets away from the action graphics - instead you have a portrait of your character with a hexagon surrounding them. No need for animations, so no worrying about if your graphics card is being fried. I like Baldur's Gate and similar games as much as the next person, but one thing I noticed is that a lot of times the game can't reproduce my vision for my character. In this, you select the image you want, and there they are every time you fight or move around on the map. You can also impor…1 found this helpful
If you like sandbox games, this game is fun. There is a Story Mode and a Sandbox Mode. I play the Sandbox Mode because it allows you to explore, build varied adventuring parties, and start all over to try a new approach. The difficulty is customizable, there are no silly puzzles to block progress, and you earn XP and loot at a good pace. In short, I like it because it is enjoyable to play.1 found this helpful

it's a surprisingly fun game. Lots of dying initially before I realized you're supposed to get stronger before taking on some fights. The game does suffer from a surprisingly bad inventory system that really should be fixed; others have commented on it and it's true. There's a good number of combinations of skills and traits that lead to good abilities, but it's trial and error. I wish they would allow you to see a tree so you could strategize what abilities you want to build. In general good game, good depth, poor user friendly optimization.
I liked *Erannorth Chronicles*; I like *Erannorth Renaissance* even more. For me, it’s a beautiful, solid old-school role-playing game that captures the spirit of a pen-and-paper campaign well and offers interesting character-building options. It’s really fun. My only criticism is that most of the dialogues seem to have been written by AI, but for a one-man project (?), I find that acceptable, and I’m happy to put up with the occasional AI clichés like ancient prophecies, magical orbs, and purple prose descriptions with occasionally odd metaphors. For the game’s future development, I’d like to see a respec option and more story elements. Regarding the use of AI, I’d find it interesting if, as options, either the dialogues were edited by hand a bit more (to reduce AI clichés and optimize immersive writing) or AI were fully integrated to make interactions with generated NPCs more exciting and unique (and to fully leverage the potential of AI).
Pretty neat
