Tome of the Fates feels like a solid attempt at a fantasy RPG, but it falls short in a few key areas. The story has potential, but it gets bogged down by predictable tropes and some weak dialogue. The combat system is functional, though it can feel repetitive over time, and some of the mechanics are unnecessarily clunky. The art style is nice, but the environments feel a bit generic and lack any real standout moments. The progression system is decent, but it can be grindy, especially if you're not sticking to the main story. Pros: Interesting world-building Solid character progression Great art design Cons: Predictable story Repetitive combat Clunky mechanics Rating: 6/101 found this helpful
Normal text adventure, nothing new or innovative. The adventure editor might be something to those who care, but I can't be bothered to create my own game. The normal story feels slow and uneventful, and you can do much of the content again and again, for example in the roman story, you can go to the village, kill the bandits, fail a jump after the village, and go back to the path where you can select the village again. The game won't remember that you killed the bandits, so you have to do that again, if you haven't played through all the various scenarios of the fight. Overall just boring
