About Reigning
Choose your story and start the adventure. You make decisions throughout the stories and the better the choice you make, the better the ending you get. With the first version of the game you can play "Blanche of Namur's" preview. Giving you a short insight of the 2 stories for her that are to come. With her upcoming stories you also get "Haakon IV of Norway" which follows the Civil war of Norway and his daughter "Christina of Norway" who is married off to "Philip of Castile" in Spain.
Blanche was born and raised in Namur, Belgium. One day the King of the Nordic countries, King Magnus, travels all the way to her and proposes. A year later, she sails from Belgium and receives Tunsberghus as a morning present at the wedding. She spends most of her time there and has children, but one becomes more hungry for power than the other. The kingdom's alliances go up in smoke and rumors of poison at the fortress spread quickly. Death haunts Blanche when the plague reach the land.

This feels like a demo to a demo. There is only 7-10 minutes of content and far more locked options than available options. 3 of the Achievements also don't work/can't be attempted either. How awful.9 found this helpful
Unfinished and possibly abandoned game. It is a game that seems at most 25 % finished. Lots of content have yet to be released and it has been almost a full year with no sign of activity (as far as I can see). The 30 minute achievement does not unlock (I left the game running for 3 hours). There are 2 more achievements that seem impossible to get at this point (but somehow 30 % or so have them?).6 found this helpful

Reigning is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book eschews the usual topic of your average Steam e-book, that is, the high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about the authors imaginary anime girlfriend. Instead, this is a high school history class dropout fan-fiction about the authors imaginary historical figure girlfriends from Norway. The sheer level of cringe, however, remains exactly the same. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click y…1 found this helpful
Everything is locked, and half of the achievements are unachievable because the game is bugged. The English text is unfinished and some of the text boxes cut off the sentences. There are missing parts of the story that is available. Wish there was an update because it's a cool concept but there's too many things wrong with it. Also there is only a single dialogue choice for the player to make but all three options literally have the same outcome. If you want to waste some time download the game but it's just not worth it in my opinion.
