Fare Thee Well

What hit me most was how familiar the main character felt. There’s something about him that feels distant from everything, like he’s always moving forward but never really belonging anywhere. I felt a connection to that like understanding what it’s like to pass through places and people, and still carry those moments with you even when they’re gone. It’s not a loud emotional game but it’s subtle and that’s what makes it stick.

This is a short kinetic visual novel with no choices or alternative endings, focusing entirely on story and atmosphere. It follows an immortal wanderer who stops in a small town and meets a young singer, which becomes a meaningful moment in his long existence. Personally, I didn’t like the art style at all - it didn’t appeal to me and often feels disconnected from the backgrounds and overall tone of some scenes. The music works better and does a good job setting the mood, but the story itself didn’t really engage me and felt pretty uninteresting at times. It’s a very simple, short experience that relies on atmosphere and reflection, but in my case it just didn’t land the way it probably intended to.

This is simple and cute. I would recommend if you want a short little visual novel to play. There aren't any choices to be made to change the ending, but it is something sweet. It's a nice little tale of this one character and the people he meets along the way. Leaves you with a bittersweet ending. Nothing cringe, just a short cute thing to read a long to. The only complaint I have is with the music. It sounds nice and soothing as you play, nothing wrong with the choice of the sound, but rather has to do with it abruptly stopping in the middle of it. It's very sudden and happens often enough. I ended up just turning my volume down and read a long.
