Filluminate is a really simple game, but I like how quickly it gets to the point. I am given a maze full of narrow paths and my job is to run through it while filling everything in, then reach the exit before time runs out. The whole idea is based around these glowing objects called Fillumina, and when I move through the cracked areas I have to be careful because hitting the wrong thing can cause problems. I cannot just run around randomly because the levels are built around narrow paths and I have to work out the quickest way to fill everything. That makes me think ahead before I start moving, especially when I am trying to improve my time. I like games where I can understand the rules almost immediately but still get better through practice, and Filluminate fits that pretty well. A route that feels awkward on my first attempt can become much easier once I have worked out the right order to move through the maze. The precision side also gives the game a bit of tension. The paths are tight …
