About Fragile Allegiance

In a future where the Earth can no longer support its ever-increasing population, pioneers have established colonies on countless new worlds. The fortunate ones have prospered and thrived, mining the precious ores and minerals that they found there, and the unfortunate have succumbed to the ravages of deep space.
In the year 2496, you are appointed Colony Director for Tetracorp and it is your job to build a thriving colony while defending it from 6 alien species.
Fragile Allegiance offers a fast-paced RTS where you can buy blueprints, hunt for asteroids to mine, or even build an Asteroid Engine and use it against an opponent who’s been a thorn in your side! If you favour a more underhanded approach to furthering your goals, you can deploy Spy Satellites and Sabotage Agents to thoroughly undermine your enemies. Once you expand beyond the scope of one colony, you can appoint Colony Managers to take care of the more minor details of running and maintaining your colony.
Remember, life is fragile; the future is in your hands!
Assemble your fleets, fill your silos with nuclear warheads, conduct research, gather resources, and wage war in a vast galaxy in this unique take on 4X Strategy.

This is one of the best sim/strategy games ever made.. imagine its already almost 30 years old but still the AI/Engine works much more better than many new and modern games.6 found this helpful
Fragile Allegiance is a science-fiction strategy game that delivers a far more ambitious experience than its age might initially suggest. Beneath its retro presentation lies a deeply layered mix of colony management, diplomacy, espionage, mining, and interstellar warfare that rewards patience and careful planning. Unlike many strategy games that focus entirely on combat, this title places equal importance on economics, politics, and survival within a hostile galaxy filled with competing factions. The result is a complex and immersive space simulation that still feels unique even years after its original release. The game is set within the Fragmented Sectors, a dangerous region of space filled with asteroid fields rich in valuable minerals. Players work under the massive TetraCorp organization and are tasked with building profitable colonies while competing against rival alien corporations for dominance. Instead of controlling planets, players establish settlements directly on asteroids, creating mining operations and expanding infrastructure piece by piece. This unusual setting immediately gives the game a distinctive identity compared to traditional space empire simulators. Buil…2 found this helpful
its just an awesome game
Awesome classic form childhood. Old but Gold.
This is where it all started
A very old game with a sharp corporate criticism and high stakes, fast RTS rife with needless micromanagement and too much sliding menus. It is good, but is an acquired taste for new generation. Every time you need to build a building, opening a menu is...unpleasant. Extremely luck based as well, you need money to do anything, either by having a lot of colonists on standby (maybe the company pays you to work them in idle things?) or selling ore (most of time), but the sheer crazy high speed glass cannon ship duels are...nice. The newer generations won't enjoy this because the game is made with boomer mentality on mind, for good OR bad. You plan ages ago, pay a lot and have very high risk but high yield return. One game can have you land a rich asteroid belt, the other, a very poor one. If you can trade, you can buy and sell goods as they fluctuate in peacetime. But that cash could go for more military industrial complex weapons, don't you think? Positioning and everything is so random, you may enjoy it if you don't mind the menu chip board slide sound with every decision.
