About Freebooter of SPLORR!!
Freebooter of SPLORR!! is a minimalist dungeon crawler where you take the role of the freebooter. A freebooter is a "lawless adventurer". SPLORR!! is a rough place.
After an all night binge drinking session, you awaken in a dungeon maze filled with monsters. But at least you still have yer trousers.
In order to leave this dungeon, you will need to combat all of its denizens. These can be anything from the introductory Evil Bat all the way up to the might Wyvern.
Is this dungeon maze real, or is it all in yer head? I leave that to the interpretation of the player.
To combat the monster, be they real or imagined, it is not a matter of melee prowess, but a matter of... successfully predicting whether the next card drawn will be higher or lower than the previous.
Along the way, you'll get hungry. You'll need food. You will need courage and alertness in order to better combat yer foes!
Fortunately, the dungeon is filled with helpful items like beer and wine, to help you be courageous. Coffee to help keep you alert.
And above all else, there are Jools Galore!
Defeat all of the enemies, and emerge victoriously with your hard-won Jools!
Get defeated, and the grim reaper will mock you.
In either case, try to keep yer trousers on, and for all our sakes, try not to soil them!

An enjoyable dungeon crawl. Card combat feels more engaging than simple random dice rolls. Plenty of fun things to discover along the way.2 found this helpful
This is a hilarious retro style dungeon game that definitely has a lot more to it than first meets the eye. Hours of fun exploring and seeing how far you can get without dying or pooping your pants. I really like the guessing higher or lower combat style much more interactive than smashing an attack button. Lots of items to find and monsters to battle all while trying to balance your courage, drunkenness, hunger, health, & bowels; just like real life.1 found this helpful
Really nice game, keep up the good work
I have seen this game developed and have been itching to buy it and now I have I can confirm it is addictive and fun, would recommend to anyone.
If you are of a certain age, and no longer have the reactions to enable you to beat the young whipper-snappers that grew up with a PS4 controller in the womb, then you may have enjoyed playing turn-based and/or strategy apps that give you enough time to make a cup of coffee, or grab a Werther's original while you are in the middle of a game. Freebooter of SPLORR!! takes me back to a time (pre-internet) when games were simple, took 5 minutes to load off a C-90 cassette tape, and you didn't have to have 12 fingers, and be able to contort your digits just to be able to walk, move, fight, and talk at the same time. I love it. Go grab yourself a coffee, or a beer, a bag of mint humbugs, put your slippers on with your feet up, and relive your 80's childhood.
Freebooter of SPLORR!! is a fun call back to dungeon crawlers of old. Mixed with some great humour and unique encounters, this is definitely worth it. The music and sound effects are on point, giving you an immersive experience. The randomness of the dungeons ensures plenty of mixed gameplay, and plenty of achievements to work your way towards! Great game if you love the dungeon crawler style games! Highly recommend!
