Dungeoneers

This is a fun game to play in short sessions. It’s easy to get into and it gets increasingly complex (but without becoming overwhelming) as you progress. At the time of writing, I’ve clocked 46 hours and I’m still unlocking new mechanics, more areas to explore, new modes, etc. Surprisingly, this is a server-based game. That's very unusual for a single player title, but when you dig deeper it makes sense, given that there are some social aspects to it, like leaderboards, seasonal events, among other features. Note that there’s no Steam Cloud support – instead, your progress is linked to your Steam account and stored in their servers. Also, this game keeps receiving new content on a regular basis, but that isn’t more advertised in the [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/1346460/allnews/]game’s hub[/url] for some reason (it absolutely should, though). Dungeoneers is a great game of strategically pushing your luck and deciding which risks to take. Each game is full of tricky decisions: Which rooms to tackle or avoid and in what order? Do you sneak around stealing things at the risk of being caught in a compromising position, or is it safer to charge in swinging? When is it worth using your limited supply of scrolls to create new options? I've played hundreds of hours of Dungeoneers on Kongregate in addition to here, and I'm still not bored with it. I'm continually impressed by the polished UI, which is so well designed that you almost never have to think about it. Nearly every action is just one click and almost any question I have can be answered by glancing at the room inventory or hovering over it. The odds of success are presented for each sneak movement and attack, while the visible die rolls provide nice tension without really slowing things down. A typical game might be 10-30 minutes, depending on game mode and how many dragons you're preparing to fight. And you can leave at any point without losing progress, which I always appreciate. easy quick fun. Get it on sale, it is somewhat simple. The three roles do play differently. Some of these games have RNG mechanics that make or break the game and the RNG here isn't that impactful. Even with some bad rolls on equipment updates if you play tactically you can still win most of the time.

It's good game, worth it's 20$, but it's not for me: it's not real RPG, just tactical turn-based game. No story or progress. I could spend some time with it daily, but not for a long.

A cute game. DEFINITELY NOT worth $20 or whatever it is now. I remember playing an early version of this game on browser for free when it first came out, and it hasnt changed that much. Anyway, I felt compelled to write a review for this no longer being updated game because I have found that each time I play it, and the longer I play and it, the less I enjoyed it. I wish the devs would have put a way in for you to choose which features you could play with, instead of forcing all these different unlocks on you all the time as you progress to harder difficulties. I have gotten some good hours out of this game over the years, but I would not recommend anyone buy it full price with the state it is in
