About Deep Dungeons of Doom

✦ AI summary

Delve through progressively deadlier dungeons battling monsters with one of three uniquely skilled characters—Crusader, Witch, or Mercenary—each essential to conquering the ultimate evil lurking in the Deepest Dungeon of Doom. This retro-styled roguelike combines simple pick-up-and-play mechanics with a brutal difficulty curve and strategic character switching that rewards skill and tactical mastery.

You’re Going Down! Enter the Deep Dungeons of Doom if you dare…

This game is only for the brave. Dungeons await, each one deeper, each one more perilous and each one more challenging than the last.

You will meet monsters and you will need skill and tactics to defeat them. You will find weird and wonderful treasures along the way. Most will help you, but some might not. You may choose to play as a Crusader, a Witch or a Mercenary – in fact each one might well be required if you are to successfully complete your quest – but knowing when to use each one is something you are going to have to figure out for yourself.

The reward for your endeavours? The Deepest Dungeon of Doom. Never before has such evil existed on such a massive scale. Only the most battle-hardened rogues will stand a chance of making an impact.

Game Features:

• Relive the 8-bit era with super-stylised visuals, music and SFX
• Simple gameplay with a wicked learning curve
• Choose from 3 characters, each with their own unique abilities
• Battle monsters in increasingly deep and difficult dungeons
• Explore a world of magic, evil, power and redemption
TL;DR: A fun little game to pass the time (6/10)
This game is 12 years old now, and the graphics were not that good even when it was originally released. But it holds surprisingly well! Visuals & Gameplay The graphics are deliberately 8-bit pixelated, which makes it look as good as it was when it was just released. The gameplay is very simple:

You attack, block, or use an item to kill monsters.
You can collect gold & items from killed monsters.
Occasionally you're given a skill point to upgrade one of 4 skills (Attack, Speed, Health & Magic).
Outside the dungeons, you have 2 shops and the ability to upgrade characters.
That's it. Very basic. Very simple. Very fun.

The Gripes
There are some small gripes I did have with the game:

The graphics are not the best.
It's basically a "test your reaction speed" game as far as fighting goes.
The Main Issue: The Roguelite Grind My biggest gripe is the overly roguelite nature of the game. Your stats are reset at the end of each dungeon, and you can only keep 2 items. This means you start very underpowered each time you start a new dungeon. A…

(game not complete at 1.8 hours of gameplay at time of review, part of my review all games effort) (short version) I didn't realize it was a mobile game until I read some reviews and yeah that make sense... A rogue like (kind of) with basic controls. I'd call it a "reflex rogue like" it's different but not really all that interesting $5 is a good price for what you get. It's not bad but it's not brilliant. (long version) A reflex rogue like with pretty good music, the game is (maybe) hard only due to it throwing in some cheap moves every now and then. I've read that this was a mobile game and sold extra lives as micro transactions and yeah that tracks the further you play. Maybe it was a good game to syphon $ off their players. $5 is a good price for what you get if you're into this type of game. The good: The music is pretty engaging, I like that there are talent trees to improve your character. The bad: Honestly, after a while it just gets boring. I was going to play this longer, but I caught myself falling asleep while playing the mercenary. I fell asleep because I ended up repeating the same levels, waiting for the same attacks and just trying to progress, only to be d…

Do you ever get tired of having to keep track of multiple attack types when playing a dungeon crawler? Do you ever wish you could just have one button, an attack button that attacks things? And who needs to run around the screen all day trying to hit something? Just have the monster stand there so you can hit it, kill it, and move on. And who needs to worry about opening things or busting locks or fiddling about with traps when you can just attack the monster, kill it, take its treasure, maybe find something neat, and then go to the next place where there's a monster until there aren't any more. This is that game. It's low resolution, easy to play, and has a simple premise: enter a dungeon, kill a monster, take its stuff, and go to the next floor where another monster is waiting patiently for you until you reach the end. What makes it interesting is the stuff and story you find along the way. Like a sword that comes from the future, carving through anything you meet, or a demonic contract that will give you incredible power...provided you bleed within an inch of your life for it. You may discover a dungeon blocked by the body of an unconscious giant that requires something u…

A bit too simple for my liking as a dungeon crawler fan, but if that appeals to you then maybe you'll like it. It's not bad, just not my style.

Deep Dungeons of Doom is a compact yet thoughtfully crafted dungeon-crawling RPG that reflects Bossa Studios’s talent for taking familiar genre foundations and reshaping them into something streamlined, accessible, and quietly addictive. At first glance, the game presents itself as a cheerful throwback, with colorful pixel art, chunky animations, and an upbeat chiptune soundtrack that immediately recalls classic 8-bit fantasy adventures. Beneath that nostalgic exterior, however, lies a design philosophy that emphasizes clarity, rhythm, and player decision-making over complexity for its own sake. Rather than overwhelming players with sprawling maps or dense systems, the game focuses on the moment-to-moment tension of descending deeper into dangerous dungeons where every encounter matters. Gameplay revolves around a series of vertically structured dungeons composed of short floors, each populated by enemies, traps, and occasional rewards. Players choose between three distinct character classes—the Crusader, the Mercenary, and the Witch—each of which approaches combat differently and subtly reshapes how the game is played. The Crusader favors defense and steady survivability, the Mer…

Fast-paced, easy to learn, hard to master? Pixel-charming in its own way as well.
