Get Over Here! (2020)

"Get Over Here!" is an appalling ripoff of Flappy Bird coupled with a theme stolen directly from Mortal Kombat (I really hope Konami sues). It's not free, this is in fact some of the most brazen beggarware on Steam I've ever seen... the developer is begging for astrononimcal amounts of money that we should give him freely because he polluted Steam with this valueless garbage. What do you do in the game? It's Flappy Bird with a laughably bad, lazy MS-Paint stick figure theme on it, and conceptual design stolen from and infringing on the copyrighted property, Mortal Kombat. Can't just steal other people's stuff... it's not just unethical, it's illegal in some parts of the world. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. Alright, I was expecting something terrible seeing as how the design is composed of MS Paint PNGs, but it does have a surprisingly satisfying gameplay where you score combos and earn steam achievements as you go. It also took me back to those old flash games that basically focused on replaying the game and getting better. It's like a combo of flappy bird and some mobile runner game. A good grind I would recommend to anyone who plays it on a school computer during boring classes, or the times when you want to play something that isn't demanding of your immersion in storytelling, art, etc. but just pure fun and skill grinding. Update: The game has this annoying f*cking glitch where starting the game the spear just falls to the ground. But I'm going to be nice this time and let it slide in a positive review. For now. Then we'll see how far I can take the next abuse that comes along the way.
