God Fishing

This game is cool, but it's just not for me. The water visuals keep lagging and it makes me feel a bit dizzy (photosensitivity) and I'm too slow on the motion to reel in the fish to even catch anything. And then the waiting... Closing the game to open it again, even with 20x time speed misses the point of patience, it's just a chore.

delightfully odd, although not for everyone given how you have to wait a few irl hours in between catches. i am a big fan of the fact the fish wear hats.

God Fishing is one of those games that looks extremely simple at first, but I ended up finding the strange little story much more interesting than I expected. I play as a fisherman who discovers that the fish in these quiet waters are not quite normal, and the whole thing gradually turns into a bizarre mystery involving an unusual fish society and the god they worship. I really liked how the game slowly changes from relaxing fishing into something much darker. The main gameplay is built around choosing the right location and bait before casting my line and waiting for something to bite. That waiting is actually an important part of the experience because I never know exactly what I am going to catch. Different combinations lead to different discoveries, so I found myself experimenting with what I had available rather than simply repeating the same action over and over. What makes the fishing more interesting is that every catch can reveal another piece of dialogue and another clue about the wider story. An interesting experience, love the atmosphere but not for everyone. Even with speeding up the wait times progress/discovery is locked behind waiting, and by hoping you can either trial and error bait & location combos or through reading vague notes(alongside that you can still despite this all end up catching some notes). Still, a wonderful game, although at the time of posting it is incomplete. Only took me an hour to complete, but that's due to exiting the game while waiting to catch something, unsure what the time to complete including wait times is. Overall I'd say it was worth the hour I put into it, especially for the price of $0.

im 14 and this is deep (get it?) no but like really this is deep and its free go play it will make you think inward and hard

Not bad for a free game, just come back once in a while
