About Fishing The Abyss
Note 1: This is not an idle or clicker game.
Note 2: There is no exciting or active fishing experience in this game.
A relaxing desktop accessory with idle elements that lets you sink into the depths of a fishing pond.
This is more like a desktop accessory than a traditional game, so it might not even qualify as a "game" in the usual sense. It’s designed for people who are too busy to play games. You can place it on the side of your screen, glance at it occasionally, and feel a small sense of accomplishment as you level up or complete minor tasks. You might find yourself surprised by changes in the environment or discover eerie creatures caught on your line—those are the moments to enjoy.Gameplay
- A small robot will start fishing on its own.
- You can let it fish idly or actively assist by clicking.
- Catch various creatures to earn points.
- Use points to level up various abilities.
- Level up to reach deeper parts of the fishing pond.
The main purpose is to enjoy discovering various creatures and changes in the fishing pond environment throughout the process.
There’s also a collection feature, so have fun completing it.

For those expecting a stimulating gaming experience or an overload of stats and numbers:
This game is not for you. It’s a game where most progress happens over time, even if you barely interact with it.The most it offers is the possibility of feeling like you’ve “played” a game, even when you’re too busy to actually play one.Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Q: I want to read setting texts that explain the creatures or the game’s world.
A: While this may not concern buyers, as a solo developer without a publisher, I cannot afford the cost of preparing explanatory texts. I understand that such texts are a standard feature in many games. Instead, I focused on creating more creature types to provide visual variety and enhance the atmosphere for players to enjoy. If you absolutely must read such texts, I recommend refraining from purchasing.I apologize if buying and playing the game leaves you disappointed.Q: The idle time feels too short.
A: This game is not designed to be as focused on idling as games typically categorized as "idle games."It is better to think of it as a game with "idle elements" rather than a fully idle game.If you wish to increase the idle time, it is recommended to prioritize upgrading the point capacity limit over other elements.(We are considering whether better adjustments can be made without compromising the experience.)Q: The translation feels rough.
A: This game uses machine translation for its localization. While we make efforts to ensure the content is as clear as possible through reverse translation and other checks, if the drawbacks of machine translation are a concern, we recommend refraining from purchasing.DLC & expansions

✦ AI summary
Players praise this idle/desktop companion game for its charming pixel art aesthetic, relaxing gameplay with well-paced progression, and cute robot fishing concept that works nicely as a desktop decoration. However, some report encountering bugs—particularly an encyclopedia issue that forced excessive grinding—and wish for additional features like borderless windowing and customization options like monochromatic color modes.
I love this game! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a unique desktop companion/decoration and likes games with similar themes to Dredge and Bloodborne. The aquarium free DLC is amazing! Gameplay: Simple; this game doesn't ask much of the player. I love the sounds that indicate user input is needed. Upgrades make sense and are paced well, I found the rate at which I was filling up the encyclopedia was proportional to the upgrades and achievements. I never had to grind for any particular fish either, the rarity seems very balanced. Graphics: Lovely style of pixel art that implies more detail than often exists. It is pleasant to look at and suits the gameplay and deep-sea aesthetic well. Wish there was a borderless windowed option to better display the aquarium and for it to mesh more with other desktop elements. Controls: Easy to understand and satisfying. However, I don't know if spam-clicking a fish sometimes makes it more likely to be caught or if I am just very lucky. UI: Very well designed, there is no clutter and if you forget how to bring up any of the menus, the mouse cursor will change when a menu can be accessed which is a very nice quality of life feature. I ran into a bug where I couldn’t open the back side of the encyclopedia, so I had to rely on the random option. Because of that, it took me 100 hours to complete the game. It’s not a bad idle game, but it has way too many bugs.1 found this helpful
There's a little robot fishing at the corner of my desktop!1 found this helpful
Very good! Love the artstyle and the lovecraftian atmosphere.
I absolutely love this little idler. I would love if it had settings for monochromatic hue changing, like The Shrouded Isle. That’s the only change I would make; well worth a couple bucks.
Another one of the better fishing idlers. Can't beat a cute robot.
