About Greywind's Legacy - A Text Based, Skill Progression, RPG
The legend of Greywind is fading. His trail leads through 15 dangerous regions, from the safe farmlands of Alara to volcanic wastelands, frozen peaks, and a dragon's domain. You are his last descendant. Reclaim what was lost.Greywind's Legacy is a deep, text-based RPG played in a terminal-style window. Explore a hand-crafted open world of 3,000 × 3,000 tiles across 15 distinct zones, each with its own enemies, towns, dungeons, and secrets. Every playthrough begins in the small town of Alara and expands outward as your character grows in power.Key Features

[Updated Review as of 08/18/2026 (Post-1.0)] Still really enjoying this game, especially as I get further and further into it! I've played with a few different character archetypes, done a lot of exploring, but I've only made it as far as T2/the second "zone". It feels very rewarding grinding out levels and abilities, and it feels like no matter what you focus on you're making progression. It's really nice to chill with this game and take a break from other high-stimulation games. I'll probably do one more review update once I make it to end-game and have a stronger feel for all the game can offer, but I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun turn-based text-based RPG. [Updated Review as of Update #9]: I've played more than before but not as much as I've been wanting to, and I can say this game has so much promise especially for how cheap it is, and the developer is truly top-notch when fixing bugs, listening to feedback, and implementing new stuff/features. Every update so far has added a ton of depth and QoL stuff. This game is an absolute blast to play, especially if you throw on a playlist of fantasy-themed music to listen to. I am just eating this game up. Total Character Freedom, a totally open world. For the modest price I can't tell you how good the value is....this is the RPG equivalent of Warsim. Your skills level as you use them and there are branching paths for your class. It is a little rough but for just coming out in EA this is great!3 found this helpful

I am having a really good time with this game so far. It satisfies my need for skill grinding with the added fun of discovering class paths and new skill combinations with the evolution/merging system. It's fun finding all the little interesting lore and secrets. It's a great RPG so far and I can't wait to see where it goes. Loads of hours of play already even for early access and definitely lots of replayability with class system! If you like reading, skill-based progression and grinding then this is definitely one to check out, plus the dev is great at communicating and listening to feedback!1 found this helpful
Greywind's Legacy is a breath of fresh air, it harkens back to the old text style adventure. I found it a lot of fun to play and enjoy it immensely. The support has been exceptional and they are constantly adding/upgrading the experience. I would highly recommend it to all gamers.
5090 can barely keep up.
