Grimm 1865 is a brief first-person horror action game created and published by ITD Collective. Developed by a four-person student team over approximately three months, it is presented as a small learning project rather than a fully developed commercial production. That context is important because the game contains only a single level and is designed to last roughly five to ten minutes. Its limited size makes it feel more like a demonstration of an idea than a complete horror adventure, but the concept behind it has enough personality to make the experience worth examining. The story centers on Hebert Grimm, a man who has spent nine years studying abroad before finally returning home. Upon his arrival, he discovers that his father died more than six years earlier. Hebert had remained unaware because the letter containing the news apparently never reached him. The same message reveals another mystery: his father left behind a special family heirloom at their former estate. This discovery sends Hebert back to the old property, where his attempt to retrieve the artifact becomes considerably more dangerous when a supernatural presence begins interfering with his search. I know this probably got mixed reviews because of the length of the game but it was probably a senior project that got ported to Steam. Not a bad game, just very short, and I hope whoever made it is able to continue with their career in game design. Rating: 7/10
