Developed and published by Gua, Gynophobia is an indie first-person horror game that combines psychological themes with fast-paced shooting mechanics. Instead of focusing on survival horror where avoiding enemies is the primary objective, the game embraces a more action-oriented formula inspired by classic shooters. Its defining feature is its exploration of the protagonist's psychological struggles, centering on an overwhelming fear of women alongside an intense fear of spiders. This uncommon premise gives the game a distinctive identity, offering players a horror experience that relies as much on symbolic storytelling as it does on combat. The story follows Mark, an ordinary man whose life is consumed by severe phobias that slowly transform his reality into a terrifying nightmare. As players progress through increasingly surreal environments, they witness the physical manifestations of his fears, forcing him to confront monstrous versions of the anxieties that have controlled his life. Rather than presenting an elaborate narrative filled with lengthy dialogue, the game tells its story through environmental progression, unsettling imagery, and encounters that symbolize Mark's det…

got this on sale for $1.60 USD as part of a bundle because i wanted to support the Dev after playing "Skinwalker Hun". the original price for the game was $2.00 USD and I can see why. It's a basic shooter with only 3 stages of gameplay, 2 of which being a game within the game and the 3rd being a nightmare sequence that helps the main character get over his fear of women AND spiders. It's simple, direct and just a quick one-off experience that I'd personally only recommend as a bundled item.

Nah, not worth it. I'm so glad that the other Gua games are actually very good.

I really love all the titles of this dev and this is the last entry im playing now. The entire setup and progression is once again super creative but very simplistic. The game is also pretty short with around half an hour but i had lots of fun playing through. The different levels feel pretty diverse and i got some Cry of Fear vibes in the first two, nice nostalgic flashback. The gameplay and the shooting is alrighty and the mobs are designed pretty nice, i love these oldschool visuals. If youre well aware of the very short playtime i can fully recommend you this game. Fun short term experience and i think 2 Euro isnt very much to ask for.

It's a very short game 30 min to an hour tops. It's a decent shooter that scratches my itch for murdering women.
