KAMGUSTA'S MINI REVIEW Do you like "Time Crisis" and "The House of the Dead"? Well, you're better off playing the latter (as the former isn't on STEAM). But if you want to try another shooter on rails, this game delivers (something) - and it's also the sole alternative. For the story, you are a U.S. marine who "exports democracy" in Iran with bullets and grenades. Regarding stereotypes, Iran is "bad" because it's about to launch a nuclear ICBM (it's nice to see that 10 years later nothing has changed and ICBMs are yet to be found). It's not the game of your life, but it's priced reasonably and exactly worth what it costs (a coffee). All considered, for me it's a thumbs up. There is also a prequel a little less polished, "Afghanistan" (if you have to pick one, don't pick it). Both Heavy Fire games I've played (Afghanistan and Shattered Spear) are subpar rail shooters that may have been decent with VR support or even a light gun, but as is, just a rather boring affair that I wouldn't recommend (either of them). They're both low quality enough I'm removing them from my account even.1 found this helpful
"Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear builds on the engaging gameplay of the previous titles, with some improvements to lighting and texture quality, most noticeably in its enemies and environments. However, it falls short in mood and atmosphere, especially in its soundtrack, when compared to the previous outing. If you're a fan of the series and you yearn for more of that great Heavy Fire action, it will suffice; just don't expect miracles. Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is still the pinnacle of the franchise, in my opinion." TD
Make sure to disable all HID in device manager to play the game properly :D not bad for a on rail shooter
Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear is a modern military on-rails shooter developed by Teyon and published by Mastiff, designed as a fast-paced, arcade-style action experience rather than a deep tactical simulation. As part of the long-running Heavy Fire series, the game embraces a stripped-down structure that prioritizes constant gunfire, straightforward objectives, and immediate accessibility. It places players in a high-stakes geopolitical conflict, tasking them with stopping a nuclear missile threat by pushing through enemy strongholds across the Middle East. While the narrative setup aims for urgency, the game’s true focus lies in its relentless shooting mechanics and linear mission progression. The core gameplay follows the classic on-rails shooter formula. Players do not control full character movement; instead, the camera advances automatically through predetermined paths while enemies emerge from cover, vehicles, rooftops, and fortified positions. The primary responsibilities are aiming, shooting, and using cover at the right moment. This design creates a rhythm centered around reaction time rather than exploration or strategic planning. Encounters are structured in waves, encour…
