A funny and entertaining rail shooter. Mullah Mufti Taliban ass-kicking distribution. You only shoot the right people. Great fun for this price.

Both Heavy Fire games I've played (Afghanistan and Shattered Spear) are subpar rail shooters that may have been decent with VR support or even a light gun, but as is, just a rather boring affair that I wouldn't recommend (either of them). They're both low quality enough I'm removing them from my account even.

"Teyon was the industry leader in home arcade shooters long before Rambo: The Video Game, beginning with Heavy Fire: Special Operations, exclusively for the Wii, back in 2010. Heavy Fire: Afghanistan is the third game in a long-running franchise and the most popular, due to being the first Heavy Fire title to release on multiple platforms. HFA is praised by the masses in the arcade shooter community for the jaw-dropping realism of its stunning visuals and for its military and cultural accuracy within its dark, gritty, war-torn world, along with its frantic combat and diverse soundtrack, ranging from music that represents the beauty of the region to adrenaline-fueled, blockbuster-movie-style hits. For any home arcade shooter fan, HFA is a title you can't live without. 9.6/10" TD

I went in knowing full well this was an on-rails shooter, and honestly that's the only way to enjoy it. The gameplay itself is fine for what it is, shooting tangos and lobbing grenades in predetermined firefights, though the sun bloom that blinds you at the worst moments gets old fast. The voice acting is rough and the guns sound like someone tapping a cardboard box, but there's something weirdly fun about watching enemies do cartwheels before getting dropped. At this price it scratches that old arcade rail shooter itch if you can manage your expectations.

I fired until my fingers quit but the enemies held out longer and the campaign ended like a soldier who lost his ammo and his motivation
