Hero Planter looks so cutsie you just want to buy it. Let me tell you this, LOOKS are deceiving! The game has a good idea that has been badly executed. The controls are ridiculous and even with rebinding of the keys you still have a hard time. The grammar in-game seems very poorly translated, and even for my low level of education that is BAD. While those things are forgive-able, things like in game tutorials that should be teaching you just seem to frustrate you more then anything, while not even helping you understand your next step. But if you think I am being to hard or even unfair why not try out the DEMO for yourself. NOT Blockhead APPROVED!!! The game looked really cute and I wanted to try it out because I love games like this. Unfortunately the controls were not my friends, I couldn't get through the tutorial to save my life. If the controls were fixed I might try again, but for now, it will sit in my uninstalled games.

I feel like its a good game at its core, with cute graphics and good background music. The idea sounds fantastic to have a relaxing, cute game in a nice environment maybe feeling a bit like Rick Dangerous, and planting your crops. The controls are very hard to get used to on controller, like the main interaction/confirmation/start game is L3. And its Y to jump. B opens the menu and start closes it. So its basically messed up controls and i hope the devs can change this. You can change the controls in the menu but I dont think this should be the job of the player. When 99% of games use start to open menu, A to confirm/jump, and b to exit a menu. Then this should also be in this game. Managed to finish the tutorial and plant my first crops. I think if the devs can keep improving this just a little bit it could be a really fun game. It is already a unique game, but I would suggest to only get it if you dont mind learning the rather unusual controls, or changing them.

Don't buy this game! It's absoluty ♥♥♥♥ ! The buttons on the joystick or keyboard don't make any sense at all! It's impossible to skip the tutorial. You have to make fertilizer by pressing the F or Space key, except that Space makes the man jump... The developer says how to do it, but it doesn't work. Everyone in the discussions is having problems with mini games, but the developer doesn't seem to care... Plus, we can't change the mapping of the touch in the mini game... We have the possibility to change the jump but not in the mini game. It makes no sense... And without fertilizer you can't grow plant so I can even play...

Create an underground garden to save the brownies. The first procedurally-generated farming roguelike. Craft recipes and eliminate insects while avoiding hazards. Best played with a game controller.

I want to love this game= Truly , but currently I can only get the oven mini game to completion 20% of the time. I know that I am suposed to hold the interact button and mash jump button to try to keep the temp bar in the middle but It quickly become too unruly to one extreme or the other. Like eaither it seems the mashing Does not work at all - rocketing it to too hot, or too well and crashes into cold. This of course causes you to loose all 10 compost - forcing you to either grind heavily on mobs, hoping one set of 10 will make it to fert or grind harder for a minimum of 325 coins per fert and radish combo. now once you get these two things it then becomes a mash the interact button in hopes that it will water til harvest which also has maybe a 70% success rate. NOt sure what causes it to fail sometimes.. With pure stuborness I have made it 2 floors but it would be FARRRR MORE ENJOYABLE if the mashy mini games allowed you to succeed in a full crop cycle more often. I could even completely ignore the fall damage deaths if I was asured that my farming efforts would bare near consistant fruit.
