Heroes of Shadow Guard is a free dungeon RPG built around a pretty interesting idea. I can explore labyrinths in first person, fight through them with turn based combat and then switch sides by building my own dungeon for other people to raid. I like that the game gives me both parts of the experience instead of only letting me run through levels that somebody else made. I can place walls, guards and traps, then go out and try to beat other dungeons with my own team of heroes. It gives the game a nice feeling of building something and then testing what I have built. The dungeon exploration is simple, but I enjoy the old school feel of moving through corridors and checking each room before deciding where to go next. Once a fight starts, things switch into turn based combat where I have to choose abilities and manage my party. Different heroes have different roles, so I need to think about who I bring with me rather than treating every character exactly the same. Mana management also matters, and I have to think about when it is worth using stronger abilities instead of wasting resources on weaker enemies.
