A fairly simple Dungeon Master-like that can be finished in a few sittings. Good for a low-commitment dungeon crawl fix. If you are motion-sensitive, though, be advised that the wobbly camera movement can be uncomfortable.1 found this helpful
Monkey Tavern is a dungeon crawler that is suitable for people that does not have ample time for puzzles. It is short and it does it job. Even leveling up you have no control on what stats to increase or what skills to pick. It is all auto. There are 8 classes to choose from for players to mix and match but you indeed need a healer for some of the tougher fights as there is no item shop and potions are limited. Very limited. It is not without fault which i feel the DEVs could have done a better job. That is to explain what are the skills functions or limitations.. But i did have fun with this little crawler and it deserve praise. 7/10 for the gameplay and replayability.1 found this helpful
Temu Legend of Grimrock but still a good game!
I really enjoyed this game. It won't win any awards for having the most involved systems, the most in-depth character progression, and there is no story to speak of. But it has great atmosphere, really good music, and satisfying power increases as you acquire loot and level-up. If you're a veteran of dungeon crawlers, if you want hours and hours of highly variable gameplay, if you want an in-depth combat and character progression system, you're going to be disappointed. What I think this game does well is respecting your time. You can get through one level of this crawler in probably 30 minutes, less if you're not secret hunting. And the whole game itself takes maybe 5 hours. I could see myself doing another run through on a higher difficulty with a different party composition. Overall, this is just a that does one thing, fairly well. It isn't going to blow your mind. It isn't wildly innovative. But it is a fun, atmospheric, almost cozy dungeon crawl. It doesn't try to do too much and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
Challenging and fun game. Love the puzzles, traps and battles. It takes some time to get used to the mechanics, e.g. only 1 or 2 spells available to casters at a time (unless you take the time to change in the middle of combat which is not recommended). My only complaint is that there seems to be inordinate amount of heavy armor when only a few classes are even able to use it. Not a deal breaker. It is still really fun.
