About HEXSTORM: Tears of Arcadia
Build a flying fortress and defend it from every direction.HEXSTORM: Tears of Arcadia is a tactical tower defense with a roguelite structure where you command the flying fortress Arcadia and build a unified combat network of turrets, support modules, and resource collectors around it.This is not a tower defense about fixed paths and passive waiting. The battlefield evolves with you. Enemies attack from all directions, your economy depends on territory control, and one wrong structure can leave an entire sector of your defense without power. At the center of everything is Arcadia. It is your ship, your base, and the heart of the entire system. Expand the network, harvest resources, strengthen your weapons, and assemble combat combinations that change the course of every mission.
Build a Living Defense System
Instead of placing isolated towers, you construct an interconnected infrastructure.Collectors expand your territory, power the network, and extract resources. Turrets cover weak directions. Support modules reinforce your defenses and unlock new tactical options.Every decision has a cost. Invest resources into economic expansion or urgently seal a breach in your defense. Focus on income or commit everything to firepower. You cannot simply place towers and watch. Survival depends on maintaining the balance between growth and defense. Two Mission Types, Two Combat Rhythms
In ground missions, Arcadia lands on the surface and you deploy your defenses around the ship, holding back waves of enemies on a static battlefield filled with crystal deposits. In air missions, the ship continues its flight. The world scrolls beneath you, resources drift past, hostile missile batteries operate in the background, and rare depot containers give you the chance to dramatically reshape your build in the middle of battle. Both modes demand different pacing and decision-making, but they share one rule.Arcadia must survive.Every Mission Builds a New Strategy
During aerial operations you discover depot bonuses and choose between several upgrades. Some provide immediate effects, while others stack and reshape your playstyle. You can build a defense focused on lightning strikes, shields, and repairs. You can accelerate turret fire rate and turn the perimeter into a relentless barrage. Or you can focus on aggressive drone assaults and precision elimination of high-priority threats.Even familiar missions feel different when Arcadia enters battle with a new combination of upgrades.Enemies Demand Priorities
Every enemy type introduces a specific threat. Some rush the base and detonate on impact. Others circle the battlefield and fire from range. Heavy armored units break through the front line, saboteurs disable critical structures, and missile batteries force you to constantly monitor the safety of your perimeter.Victory does not belong to the player who builds the most turrets. It belongs to the one who reads the battlefield and reacts to the right threat at the right moment.Upgrade Arcadia Between Missions
After each battle you earn meta progression that strengthens Arcadia for future operations.Upgrade the hull, generators, starting resources, turret firepower, and drone combat systems.Over time Arcadia transforms from a damaged survivor into a fully operational flying fortress capable of surviving increasingly dangerous missions.Campaign and Challenge Mode
Experience a story campaign that gradually unlocks new mechanics, structures, and defense systems, as well as a challenge mode with endless waves for players who want to push their builds to the limit.HEXSTORM: Tears of Arcadia is a game about pressure, rhythm, and constant tactical decisions. A defense system built in motion. A ship that grows stronger after every battle. And a world whose story has only just begun. What Steam players say

Not an original idea, but still, its a bit different to the similar games. So far it sems exactly what I would expect from this type of game, I just play every mission twice which gives me enough tears to upgrade and keep up with where I need to be. I have worked out that tear extractors are king and you will want four of them ASAP and fully upgraded, then tears just flood in and you can go at full speed. Game quality is 10/10. Played a bit more, alas, my experience has gone down a lot now, I milked it, and still only 3.4 hours in I am at level 22. There are no more upgrades I can get and the game is almost impossible now, I only passed the last level with pure luck and 1 hp. There is nothing else to be seen in this game now, so, a bit over priced for what it is really, also quite short, the final levels will just be very annoying and with no way to upgrade anything I don't see me even trying. Also, there are no tactics, just build the same limited weapons over and over. I feel a bit cruel giving it a negative, but I cant recommend it in current state which seems to be a version 1 as it does not say early access.5 found this helpful
The gameplay is simple, enjoyable, and surprisingly addictive. I probably haven’t seen its full depth yet, but after finishing the first chapter, I was definitely satisfied. It feels like the game still has a lot more to offer, so I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next4 found this helpful
Good pacing, a clear foundation, and enough freedom to build different defensive setups. The constant pressure works really well: you have to watch the direction of incoming attacks, rebuild your defenses, and make quick decisions. The game already feels like a solid tower defense, and its potential is huge. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh take on the genre and who enjoys watching a game evolve after release. From the discussions, it’s clear that the developers respond quickly to feedback, release updates, and improve the gameplay right in front of the community.3 found this helpful
It’s a cool game with a really nice visual style, sound, and gameplay — I highly recommend it! 😊 The game is super addictive, and the difficulty feels just right. I still haven’t figured out how to escape the chase in time!2 found this helpful
Very fun! Good roguelike with meta progression. Good variety weapons, enemies, and hazards. It's absolutely worth trying the demo, then you can see if you like it enough. Price tag of ~$10 is worth it, there is enough campaign missions for the price tag. Good for 2 days of play if you binge it. I don't see myself playing anymore after this though.2 found this helpful
Nice TD set in steampunk setting with a few fresh mechanics and pretty art.
