Everything about this title is right.. except the price. $25 is a lot of money for me, for a light VR game you mostly watch. However I do love the aesthetic, the music, the little illustrations and the puzzles... pretty much everything about it. I do believe this title is worth exploring, at a price more competitive for a VR game of this size and scope... I'd much rather see an ambitious title go for $15 dollars and sell 500 copies than it go for $25 and sell 50. I hope the devs understand where i'm coming from 💜 I appreciate the free copy and the very nice message it arrived with. Beautiful, surely one of the best puzzle games in VR. The atmosphere is chill, nostalgic and melancholic at the same time, the puzzles are original and well-balanced, adding some cool and cute VR interactions to the non-VR base game.1 found this helpful
When I first Heard of the VR Hidden Memories, I unfortunately kind of wrote it off as 'just' a port of the Mobile game original. But this really isnt the case, is a spin-off companion game that adds to the original game with original VR elements. The upside of this there is more to this game than I originally thought, the downside is, it does feel slightly incomplete as the original had more 'story' in it than this which is fine if you played the original but without it I feel like it makes the story more vague than intended and the characters bond a little weaker. The gameplay consists of two elements, the linear time travel, you basically more the characters forward or backwards on a timeline but have some objects that need to be pressed to manipulate or timeline path they take. The second is effectively a Hidden object items hidden around the little diorama to fine, this is mostly for completion’s sake it's optional but is where the bulk of the VR gameplay derives from. however a few of the puzzles here are a bit more involved and have you doing math and a few basic mini games. I think the games format works well for VR the little Diorama style world is fun and quant. The c…1 found this helpful
Great, occasionally dreamlike, diorama style puzzle game with soft lo-fi music to help you drift through the adventure. Puzzles are mostly fun and simplistic with only a couple headscratchers (usually environmental based logic required). VR interactions are minimal as this was originally a mobile game, but the few VR interactions that are implemented were used well. Clearable in roughly 4 hours though mileage may vary depending on completionists. Serene but fun, and family friendly.
7/10 - nostalgia Didn't play 2018, 'the garden between', only this VR. Charming cute visuals, music. the 'time winding puzzles' are weak, easy.. may put off some people early. but finishing the 'Art book' of each stage gets clever and fun. and nice finish, ending, where most vr games fail. Total 7 hours game-play blind, easy it may seem, got me stuck few times! Good VR experience for all age and 8-90's nostalgia for adults. Surprised there aren't many reviews, and most steam achievements at 10%'s, worked well with Quest 3 + VD Streamer.
Works on Reverb G2. Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. HMotGB is a VR port of The Garden Between with additional puzzles and hidden object mechanics. I've never saw any other game that would almost double its amount of content for a VR version before. It is a casual puzzle based around time manipulation with cozy atmosphere and diorama-like miniature levels, that look great in VR. The difficulty is quite low, but it's not insultingly easy, and new hidden object interactions add their own unique challenges. The game runs smoothly and I've encountered no bugs during 4+ hours of playtime. HMotGB is currently a hidden gem with only 4 Steam reviews and 20 Quest ones, probably due to lack of marketing. I've only heard the game briefly mentioned once on Youtube, before getting the review copy.
