About Interfectorem
Interfectorem (which means 'killer' in Latin) is a murder mystery visual novel designed by a game dev team (called the "Team Who Must Not Be Named"), comprising of 4 middle school girls who won the annual Grand Prize at Girls Make Games Demo Day. The game went on to raise over $12K on Kickstarter.
Striking a delightful balance between humor and horror (think Nancy Drew meets Shaun of the Dead), Interfectorem will keep your attention from beginning to end!
Will you be able to solve the case and save yourself before it's too late?!

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players consistently praise the game's distinctive art style and character design, calling it vivid and lovely, though opinions sharply divide on the narrative and storytelling. While some find the dialogue authentic, humorous, and engaging with meaningful choices, others criticize the plot as incoherent, poorly executed, and filled with unresolved threads that undermine investment in the story. Most reviewers acknowledge the game as a short, ambitious indie project with creative merit despite its flaws, best approached as an experimental work rather than a polished commercial game.
I think I got this game from a bundle - it's nice little thing around 1-2$ or at full price when you want to show support, but quality-wise it can't stand up against other games in the same price range. It's a messy game to review - it has strong points, good ideas, but it lacks in cohesion and execution. But then it was literally done by kids/teens, which explains the shortcomings, and make it a solid game. But when comparing it to others, it's not really up to par. Treat it as a proof of concept, a result of a game jam, or that someone told a story through a game, while not really making it a "gamey" game. The art style is great, it's vivid and nice to look at. I genuinely don't remember the soundtrack, that means it's average - not too good, not outstandingly bad. The gameplay is basically visual novel with some extra stuff to it, but not having a visual novel engine means you can only progress by clicking (no space) and pretty slowly even then. The story is interesting, and I would love to have a ~3-4 hour long game out of this. But in this case the real gameplay time is less than an hour, which had me exploring the town that has way too many absolutely irrelevant characters…3 found this helpful
This is not a good game. I'm not the target audience for this, but even if I were, this game is still bad. It's linear narrative game where the "narrative" is inane dialogue that often feels completely at odds with the context. The character art is nice and has a unique feel, whoever worked on it deserves praise. That's the only good thing I can say.3 found this helpful
Okay first things first, I love the art style, it's lovely, the art is all good throughout and it really makes the experience. What unfortunately breaks it is the story, putting as simply as I can, it was unfulfilling and made me feel like I was looking for details for nothing. At one point I thought my clicking everything and learning all I could was going to matter till the character than should have mattered to shrugged and said something like "some plotholes huh". That just broke me honestly, I didn't want to try as hard cause I realised every thing is willy nilly put in and thrown away as the writer's felt it. It makes getting invested in the plot much harder. There definitely needs some work for their next project. Yet I give a positive reveiw cause I like this game despite it. I like it and don't regret the time invested, I want these makers to get better and continue making work cause I see some real potential here, a diamond in the rough. Keep making games, it can go up from here1 found this helpful
An adventure game whose creative team was middle schoolers and is as odd as you would expect It is anchored by the art of the very talented Reimena Yee
If you enjoyed Night in the Woods, I highly recommend you give this game a try. Game-play is only an hour and a half, so its a very short game but still interesting and captivating. I only have two issues with the game, one being the weird black text that appears in some of the dialogue, and that (spoiler) some of the dialogue during the fight repeats itself several times, and there's no real way to skip it if you've already seen/read that particular dialogue. Besides that, 10/10 game, in my opinion.
This game had a really fun mixture of comedy and suspense to it. Your choices do affect the ending, which I thought was a nice touch. Both of the featured romances in it are interracial, and one is LGBT. The dialogue is authentic and especially the back and forth between the sisters just seemed like something I would say to my little brother. It was a genuinely fun game. Self-referencing, meme-savvy, and all that fun stuff. I'd absolutely say give it a try.
