Lake Minnewaska

the artwork and voice acting in this game is really lovely, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. it's short and the fishing mechanics are a bit rough, but the final area is so pretty and the storyline is simple but interesting to follow regardless. worth the ~30 mins of playtime!

A nice, short, and free game. Lake Minnewaska is a small, narrative-driven game about a father fishing for his daughter. This game focuses on dealing with grief. Outside of the narration, the game is very simple. It plays more like a point-and-click style of game. I loved the graphics, but the audio seems a bit quiet on my end. The only issues I had were the settings and the tutorial. I wished there was a mouse sensitivity option. As for the tutorial, it was fine, but it made me think I was softlocked (the game did not tell me to move to the next page).

Pretty cool. Got the impression it is a student made project. Short but neat for what it was. Ran well, no hitching or problems to speak of.

This is such a cute short story game I love it so much 10/10 and also the graphics and design are amazing

Short narrative game with rudimentary fishing mechanics. It's not very in-depth and feels kind of janky in terms of gameplay especially with pulling the fish on the rod, but it's a student project, so I can't be too harsh. The way the short runtime conveys an emotionally charged story is neat, as well as the art, modelling etc., just presentation wise is great. It's definitely still worth checking out, since it's a free game.
