"Leyline Knights" is a mediocre 3D rendered 2D top down brawler with the "roguelike" moniker, which basically means the developer didn't know how to/was too lazy to come up with any real story/progression/level design, and instead decided that endless, samey, repetitive procgen algorithms are exactly the same thing as content. They are not. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. Сюжет, хотя и не поражает новизной, достаточно увлекателен, чтобы удержать внимание до конца. Геймплей затягивает: грамотное позиционирование юнитов и использование способностей - ключевой фактор победы. Визуальный стиль, выполненный в аниме-стилистике, выглядит симпатично, хотя местами и простовато. Саундтрек хорошо дополняет атмосферу игры. Из минусов можно отметить некоторую однообразность врагов и не самый удобный интерфейс, требующий привыкания. В целом, это достойный представитель жанра, который понравится любителям тактических боев и аниме. Рекомендую!

Game is fun, but what's the point of earning soul essence and buying passive equipment if it just disappears the second you try to start a run? It makes progressing feel like it's non existent. Until devs fix this bug I won't be playing again.
honestly it doesn't look like a finish product, early access at most 5.8/10
