✦ AI summary

Players praise Rogue Knight's well-designed combat, movement controls, and impressive itemization system that rewards experimentation and build-crafting across multiple playthroughs. The reforging mechanic and ability to combine synergistic items and spells create satisfying depth, though some note that permanent progression upgrades feel slow early on and the game has a steep difficulty curve that demands player skill.

I really enjoy the game. It seems so simple but it feels well designed in the combat and the movement and controls. I definitely hope that there is more to come to this game

Rogue Knight has some of the coolest itemization I've experienced in a 2D platformer. Once you've unlocked 4 spell slots, the skill ceiling increases an enjoyable amount as well. I've beaten the first playthrough prior to this review with an incredibly powerful build (I had some help, admittedly) and the only thing I regret is that my next run will probably not be as great. You get 3 options when you reforge, one of which being its previous version; you're never at risk of bricking an item. Can't do it endlessly, but the game is quite generous with materials via disassembling. When you combine it all, you can focus on reforging gear to increase the power of certain spells, or to boost a build like I did where you can't debuff enemies but deal a lot more basic melee damage. I had 3 spells that increased melee damage, speed, crit, etc... and then a barrier. Was great. Spell and item rarity is usually a sure-…

The game has more depth then it looks initially. Enemy explode on death feels pretty fun. A unique item i got from an act boss that gives a companion-orb that fight with you. Reforge felt pretty meh initially, but later on reforging rare items for damage against bleeding, while i was using a spell that applies bleed felt rewarding.
