Life After Magic

Awesome little game. I love the artstyle, and the game is a very clear love letter to a lot of the classic magical girl shows, but having the characters be adult and post-magical girl life is a fun and unique premise. I only did one playthrough (plus the new game+ route that unlocks after game clear) since I enjoy these types of games more for the main plot experience than for trying to do every character's route, but from what I can tell there are a lot of hangouts for each character so anyone who is going through multiple times will have plenty of new stuff to see. Might come back to it again to see some of those scenes and go down a different route once the main plot is less fresh in my mind, but as-is it still felt like a complete experience just going through once. I did not get the feeling that there's a "true end" for doing all the routes or any secret plot knowledge, I think any stuff that would be in that is in the new game+ route that unlocks once you've beaten the game once. Wasn't initially a huge fan of the new game+ being presented as a romance route with a character who's probably like 20 years older than our protagonist, and I almost just skipped it because of that…

This was so adorable and well-written! I really enjoyed all the characters and their relationships, along with the wonderful artwork and immersive story. It was overall a great exploration of what happens to magical girls needing to live in the real world after the teenage adventures, the price of clinging to the past, and looking to the future while holding on to what really matters to you. Very much recommended to all fans of magical girls!

SUCH a lovely queer retro game omg. the art and music are wonderful, the character designs and personalities are AMAZING, and there's even a cat!!!! perfection!!!! <3333 the storyline is really sweet, and being able to choose platonic endings is also really lovely for people who are less into romance/are aro! and for all the sapphics in the audience then rejoice for you can date them all hehehehe!! >:333333 oh and the trans rep from two of the characters is SO sweet and wonderful!! 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵 leez and jackie are best girls!! (especially on the romance route??? like??? couldn't she just say 'i love you [as a friend] but i need some time apart to work on myself'? then i think this relaxed attitude/plot hol…

I don't know if I can muster the words to describe how fun and lovely this whole game has been. I loved all the characters (especially Boyoung, my beloved), and thought it was a very smartly written story about relationships and life as the magic of childhood fades and the reality of adulthood starts to really seep in. There's clearly so much love here and it is really well made, especially considering that this is a free game. I couldn't recommend it more!
