Varsha is a young witch who has just graduated high school. While their friends were off jet setting and travelling around the world, Varsha had to go back to their hometown Lynnsdale to take care of their grandparents who ran a small magic store. There were two major issues though: one, magic is strictly banned and two, their grandparents store is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Play as Varsha as you try to revive your grandparent's store, avoid scrutiny by the authorities, and find love—all in one summer.

A Pinch of Magic is a cozy fantasy visual novel developed and published by Crystal Game Works that combines small-town storytelling, personal growth, romance, and magical themes into a heartfelt narrative experience. Instead of building its world around grand magical wars or large-scale fantasy conflicts, the game chooses a more personal direction, focusing on family responsibility, self-discovery, and the uncertain transition between youth and adulthood. The result is a relaxed but emotionally engaging story that finds strength in ordinary moments rather than dramatic spectacle. The story follows Varsha, a young witch who returns home after finishing high school while friends begin moving toward new opportunities and different futures. Rather than stepping into an exciting new chapter, Varsha finds themselves back in Lynnsdale helping grandparents manage a family magic shop that has fallen on difficult times. Even for a little game the personality is huge. Crystal Game Works is quickly becoming a favorite company of mine for Otome's just like Two and a Half Studio's. You will not be disappointed. Mikhail's route offered more than I expected and the route for Kiana's route had a surprising amount of depth even and a cute twist! The magic was also not just an after thought or an overpowered side piece.
Cute art! I really enjoyed Kiana's route, but I wish it was longer, or that she had two endings like Mikhail. If you're looking for a short and sweet (and free!) dating sim, I'd check it out.
Really appreciate the gender and pronouns choice and that both love interests are available for them. I was quite fond of Kia and i wish there was a bit more to her route. Overall the writing and artwork was delightful and I'll gladly play more from the writers <3
