Build and manage a thriving town from four settlers into a prosperous civilization while battling famine, disease, and enemies, choosing from six ancient gods to aid your reign with unique magic and heroes. Blending classic strategy with survival and RPG elements, every playthrough features unique settler personalities and challenging gameplay that demands multiple attempts to master.
Game concept
Your main aim here is to manage your town. Start with a small village with just 4 settlers and turn it into a prosper town with beautiful buildings, crowded markets and strong walls. Expand your domain, prevent famine and pestilence, make war, trade with other settlements, attract new people, craft armor and weapons. Make history!Godsim element
Start the path by choosing your patron - one of six ancient gods. Every one of them provides unique magic spells and a hero to help your reign. Would you use Light spells to heal your soldiers or is it more fun to raise your enemies as obedient undead soldiers with help of the God of Darkness? It's up to you to deside! But be careful - if you don't appease your god he will call his wrath upon your settlement!Storyline

Buggy and unfinished, despite promising potential. Bought this game yeeeeaaars ago, and it taught me not to (or to be more weary) about purchasing early access titles. Let that be a lesson kids, most early access is just a lazy way to get people to pay to be their play testers, or to trick you into buying an unfinished game so these SCAMMERS can make a quick buck.4 found this helpful

Life is hard, but this game is harder. And the main problem is control, or lack thereof. Because of the side viewpoint, getting around your town is difficult and time consuming. And the town is multi-level so you have to keep switching between above ground and below ground areas. And many buildings look the same, making it hard to tell which buildings you already have and which are missing. And assigning villagers to work? Forget about it. Trying to keep everyone occupied, figuring out who is above or below ground, or even getting someone to do a quick one-off task and then resume their normal job is virtually impossible. Most of the time in Life is Hard is consumed micro-managing the villagers, and that's in the first three days with only a dozen villagers! Then you get attacked, your so called hero gets decimated by the first lowly minion, and it is game over.1 found this helpful
Still a lot of bugs and UI issues that cause workers to not do what asked. Could be an extremely fun game, but it seems quite buggy.1 found this helpful
Let me tell you a story: I contacted the dev a long time ago (2019 i think) about a bunch of bugs. We started to chat, I sudmitted and showed a bunch of bugs which was more or less fixed. ALSO I made a google file with a bunch of ideas and he liked it, But in the end he just abandoned this game. Then he tells me about his idea for a new game and asks can I test earliest builds of it and give feedback. So I tested a dozen of build for a new game (In the beginning there was nothing but a main view and an ability to build basic structures), and I told him a lot of ideas, which were implemented and the game evolved. I remember he had a macbook and was looking for investors on some Expo, he placed his macbook on some table they provided. This game right now called "Anvil Saga" and it's out. I didn't get any shoutouts or at least game key, not even a thank you even.
