Lilacs in the Breeze is a free romance story made for a Jam by a solo developer, that will take about ninety minutes to read through if the Auto-advance is turned on. The story is mostly linear; there's the occasional choice about Thalia and Percy's pasts that might come up again later and change a couple of lines of dialogue (such as why Percy originally left their shared hometown), but the core narrative is unchanged: Thalia left her old life behind to find a place to call home, only for a boy she used to know to suddenly appear at the inn she works at, and over two weeks she goes from trying to keep their shared past a secret to hoping they'll share a future together. The fact that Thalia hadn't always lived her life as a girl was just one of the reasons she left her old life behind, which I think is preferable to having a trans person's life defined solely by their trans-ness. Other than Thalia and Percy, there's not much of a supporting cast, the inn's "Grandma" (who seems to just be an elderly, matronly figure rather than a true blood relation to Thalia) has the occasional line, and I think might have been a bit too pushy early on in getting Thalia to interact with Percy when…2 found this helpful
A short and sweet romance. I watched clips from the artist how these otome are drawn, and though it is not an art style I would usually be drawn to, there was something sweet and idyllic about it that really fit the story.2 found this helpful
