Lillusion

Lillusion is a game rightly ignored. It's a broken mess, avoid it. Tried to play with both an Xbox controller and Steamdeck. In both cases, LT is assigned to interact, but does not function. I can't even get out of the starting town without interacting. Tried changing the keybind in the game, but that screen doesn't seem to function correctly either. The menu screen controls suck. B is the 'confirm' button. This should be changed to the A button. B should be the cancel/back button.

Comically poor game Clearly one of the developer's first efforts Should never have been published I recommend to nobody unless you specifically want to study cardinal sins that must be avoided in game dev The flaws are endless: Beginning is masterclass in how not to Show Don't Tell, where you have 3 or 4 pages of text describing and explaining the context/scenario of the game. Omitting this entirely and just dropping the player into the game would have been infinitely better if this is the best they could do at opening exposition. Art style of characters does not match art style of the world at all. Mobs have no running animation and just sort of float over the ground. Sound effect for a mob taking damage sounds like that really exaggerated crunching effect that's sometimes used for eating. Pretty bizarre The first level is 200 metres equivalent of nothing but platforms on a plain brown background where you fight mountain goats (with no walk/run animation, and that make an eating sound effect when attacked). Never buy a game where most of the reviews have not reviewed any other game, fellas. And always test a game right away after buying it, so you don't end up with a lemon in your library after forgetting about it. Heck, this would have been clear from the outset if I had paid attention to the trailer, but that's my mistake. This game plays like a brick. What the other guy said about the interact button not working is true, the platforming is loose, and the combat amounts to a singular sword swing with 2 frames of animation with a deceptively small hitbox against deceptively large enemy collision hitboxes. Not to mention an agonizing movement speed supposedly offset by a sprint that rapidly consumes a very slowly replenishing stamina meter. To be honest the biggest thing I was owned by (which, again, I could have avoided if I had paid more attention) was that I thought the cool martial artist dude and his cat featured on the promo art were the main character. This is not the case. I have no idea who that dude is or if he or the cat are even in the game. Why is he on the box? So whatever. I couldn't tolerate it for ten minutes. Ignore.

Wouldn't buy if I knew before : Parts of the art are very good. More other parts are simplified to the minimum or lacking. Overall it's adequate. The dev allows you for each save you do, to put 1 checkpoint wherever you want. Receive another checkpoint gem to put, with the previous disappearing, each time you save. That's rather brilliant !. But. Unusual controls choice. No explanation that you have to jump up on barely seen clouds in the fog. A *whole* lot of clouds ... too many, not fun at all. Which clouds' borders let you slide and fall to the ground, to begin again. *And* you have to go east though nothing indicates it. Iffy start. -- NO MAP . A metroid with no map. With a part called "The great maze". -- Enemies are annoying, the rats, lots, in the village ? No one else is bothered except you, while you want to talk or buy and sell, they'll hurt you. -- The bees make veritable clouds of poisonous stingers and are hard to strike, you have to repeat to kill one. Maybe later there will be magic, but meanwhile it's a pain. -- The monster bear, a hard beast on its own, also throws clouds of bees. The combat part of the game is very diverse, with up to 15 skills for you to learn and use, worth trying this game
