This single-player Japanese Mahjong game offers flexible battle modes, allowing you to freely choose between intense 2-player showdowns, strategic 3-player matches, or lively 4-player games. The game strictly uses a standard 136-tile deck, including numerical tiles (Man, Pin, Sou), and honor tiles (East, South, West, North, Red Dragon, Green Dragon, White Dragon).
Staying true to classic Japanese Mahjong rules, it requires a minimum of 1 han (fan) to declare a win, featuring over 50 yaku (winning patterns) such as Riichi (declaring a ready hand while concealed), Pinfu (a simple hand with no honor tiles), and Chinisu (all tiles of one suit). Riichi must be declared in a closed hand (no melds), adding challenge and excitement; Pinfu requires a hand of sequences and a pair with no honor tiles; Chinisu focuses on a single suit, offering diverse strategies for winning.
Additionally, the game includes an automatic scoring system that accurately calculates points based on han and fu (value units), simulating real-world matches. for English-Speaking foik: it DOES have english for the menu buttons, and some explanations of stuff. but you're gonna want to know the number symbols and the wind symbols. and probably practice on Mahjong Soul first. you can figure out what the green, yellow, and reddish-purple buttons mean from that game. i got this because A: it was bundled with Fantasy Forest for cheaper than Fantasy Forest by itself. and B: i have been enjoying Mahjong Soul, but i'm having trouble increasing my skill to the next level, of figuring out what the heck my opponents are doing. because the layout of this one is all flat to the screen (and because you start against only one person), it's easier to see and understand their discards, and look for patterns. am i improving? i dunno. i am paying more attention to opponent discards. (also, there's no timer, like in majohng soul.)
