Malfunction is a serious game. This action adventure game has atmosphere that can not be easily described.Hard, oppressive, intense atmosphere.Plot and storyline is amazing and i really hope that the game will have a sequel. It has to be noted that it is made entirely by one person.Sound effects are basic but the music is excellent. The greatest value of Malfunction lies within the depth of it's storyline and interesting ever changing gameplay that contains exploration, puzzle-solving and combat.Tarantino's way of presenting story is another plus. Includes Obstruction mode that consists of several mini-missions based mostly on combat. Achievments are interesting and obtainable. Game has serious support, personally i will always support this developer for his commitment to his product and customers.

It's a nice game with lots of potential! I've played Malfunction some time ago when it wasn't on Steam yet. The game wasn't as good as it it today. The gameplay is a bit glitchy at times but turns out fun and enjoyable. In the main gamemode, you control a robot that got stuck in a frozen planet. You have 3 different 'robot modes' you can choose from, each one with different abilities that help you on the quests. This game now has an alternative gamemode called Obstruction where you take control of a new robot on an arena map. Here you have to defeat waves of robots and activate levers and such. This was more addicting than what I thought it would be! :) The soundtrack and sound effects should be polished a bit more, they're good but sometimes they sound off or too loud. The graphics are unique but sometimes confusing and not clear. This is my biggest complain about the game. Overall, I think this game is amazing and it was made by just one guy in his free time. It was developed in 2 years, correct me if I'm wrong, and it's not bad for a first project! I also love the fact that the dev is constantly working on updates and fixes for Malfunction. I'm now hoping for a sequel or…

Malfunction... hmmm that looks interesting on Steam.... I remember a long long time ago when you first started developing this game, I never thought I'd see it on Steam, but then I rember one day you told me you were thinking of buying Steam Greenlight and putting Malfunction on there. And yeah sure the 1st time it was Greenlit it didn't do to hot but you didn't let that stop you from trying again and harder to improve this game! After a long while BOOM! It was on steam again and this time it was doing well! You took all of the feedback from your first try and resculpted the game! Congrats to you Cousin! 10/10 Would watch you create again.

This is a fun, chill, and interesting game from a dedicated solo developer. It has a story campaign as well as three action/arcade modes. The campaign is enjoyable and well fleshed out with a good mix of action, adventure, puzzle solving, and exploration. I did encounter a few game breaking bugs in my playthrough but the developer was very responsive and helped me out so I could finish without issue. Overall, it's not perfect but I I enjoyed time playing this and found it engaging. Malfunction took me back to the classics of the early MS-DOS era of PC gaming.

My son made this game, so this review is admittedly biased. He made this game when he was 15 years old. I got stuck a lot and he had to bail me out. He told me that Malfunction 2 is way better because he learned so much from making this one, but I wanted to play his first game first. I enjoyed it, I'm proud of him and I have no idea how he did this. The fact that he made and self published 4 games on Steam with no help or input from me (which as a dad who is always asked for help, so shocking). I'm very proud and will definitely move on to his "better" game, the sequel and his other games. I had not played his games because I wasn't able to as I was a console gamer. I recently got back into PC gaming. I played this on Steam Deck and it plays well enough, it was made before SD, so you might have to play around with the controls a bit but performance wise, it plays well.
