Mareld is a very good game that has plenty of strategy and and puzzles. The story itself is self contained but has recurring characters from previous Renka games that mostly serve as either back story or as references. The main way to interact with the story and puzzles is to drag and drop characters or cards onto places/objects/other cards and on occasion combine them. Combat itself is mostly on auto unless the main character, or a couple other specific characters, are in the battle, in which case, you can choose the targets that your team goes after. There is a lot of options available that goes into making a team work and once you get a well put team going, it is satisfying. There is plenty of enemy variety as well and as you get farther into the game, enemy skills become something to consider and either build around or fight through. Fights are low risk and experimentation is easy to do which really helps with building units/teams. For the crafting, it is quite basic for the parts that are not food. Food has tons of variety for what to make, but ultimately the effects are limited to either heals or stat boosts. The art and music combines to create a rather soft and gentle a…

This game has a interesting story to get hook with the game play being interesting but as well as inconsistent at times when cards are stacked together resulting in lost of control. Overall, buy this game since its a fun and enjoyable ride.

My first impression of this game was "oh, it's like Stacklands", but after for a few minutes I'd it's not quite it. Although the gameplay is similar, the way you play it is more like an RPG (while Stacklands is more like a survival crafting). I had a lot of fun playing until the end, but there were some bugged puzzles, some weird translation/localization that can make achievement hunting really challenging (had to seek guides in other languages with Google Translate to have a general idea of what to do). Overall, I really liked the game and, for me, it was worth the money and time spent and I hope the developer keep making interesting games like this.

It's an incredibly beautiful game. The atmosphere is so warm and comforting that it moved me to tears.
