This level pack has now been merged with the rerelease called Doom + Doom II for free but if you came here to know if its worth playing then yes, yes it is. It is not for casual players but for those who seek a challenge. 8/104 found this helpful
Master Levels for Doom II is a fascinating expansion that demonstrates just how much life could be extracted from the classic Doom II formula without introducing a single new weapon, monster, or gameplay mechanic. Developed and published by id Software, the package serves as a collection of twenty standalone levels created by several respected designers, each bringing a unique vision to the fast-paced action that made Doom a landmark title in gaming history. Rather than functioning as a traditional sequel or story-driven add-on, the game focuses entirely on delivering fresh combat arenas and increasingly demanding challenges for players who have already mastered the original campaign. I've know lost at least 3-4 of my steam games because they no longer support Windows 10. This is ridiculous... I bought a license to this game that worked on Windows 10, but you can just decide to revoke my rights to play it because you want me to update my OS. Screw you #Steam
This fan-made map pack for DOOM 2 feels nice
Despite all the time I spent playing classic DOOM games, I never really played Master Levels until I bought it on Steam. I didn't even know about existence of this, since the usual package is DOOM 1,2/Final DOOM. In this case it's exactly as it says, a level compilation specifically chosen because of how well they were made. Still, there are a bunch of moments where you will get stuck, but it's really fun to look at what you actually get. The pack of levels you get here is a Frankenstein's monster made out of different other projects made by level designers in attempt to show their skill. If you check out the level info, you actually see that some of them are taken from other WADs, like Cabal, Canto, Titan, Inferno and others. It's good, check it out.
