Every effort has been made by the nation's top scientists to close the seven interdimensional Gates of Hell, but one portal remains open. Alone, you must infiltrate the ravaged base, defeat the demon Gatekeeper, and seal the last Hell portal before the undead take over the world.

My heart goes out to all those people laid of from Id. No matter where you stand on the design of the Nu DOOM game's, it is a sad day for us all. I hope all those who worked on games from this wonderful trilogy can get a job in the industry again, they deserve it. Id Software is perhaps one of the last modern AAA studios that actually gave a ♥♥♥♥ about delivering good product that is fun to play. DOOM 2016, DOOM Eternal and DOOM The Dark Ages are masterpieces each. IdTech is one of if not the best engine we have in the industry, and it's a shame that after so many years after acquisition, Microslop didn't utilize it nearly as much as they could, instead firing plenty of people who have been working with it for decades, effectively throwing that knowledge away, as the latest of the IdTech versions never were licensed to the general public, and might never be. I hope what is left of the studio can pull through, but in reality, it look's like they are being set up for closure a few years down the line, and if we see Id game on UE 5... Yeah. Sh0t dead.
