Deathmatch Classic successfully captures the fast-paced, arcade-style gameplay of classic Quake in the GoldSrc engine, and fans of retro deathmatch find it genuinely fun to play. However, the game's player population has dwindled significantly, leaving most servers empty and forcing interested players to either play against bots or convince friends to join them for multiplayer matches.
Essentially it's Quake but in GoldSrc engine, and it's as fan as it sounds but sadly the game's completely dead non of the servers are populated.4 found this helpful

not many people but bots are fun
Good game! Just wish people played it more
No one plays this game anymore. If you want to play this game with others, you have to gift this game to your friends, or play in servers which have bots. If you want to play deathmatch games other than Deathmatch Classic, you can play CS2, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, etc.
