May's Journey

Really nice game. I am a person trying to learn some coding, and my skills were pretty much non-existent before playing this game. It was a really enjoyable experience, learning about coding in an interactive way, Though I must admit, perhaps having some experience with MS Excel formulas (I know, LOL) helped somewhat, as some of the structures are the same, as far as I can tell. Just as some other reviews pointed out, a person with ZERO background on coding or anything of the sorts will have a difficult time with this game. But if you think things through and consult the manuals inside the game, alongside with the help provided, you can DEFINITELY pass this game. Great if you love a challenge ;) Bottom line: I love it. Please play it. I will be definitely going through this game a few more times in the future. P.S. I would look forward to the next part of this game. Really wish the game was longer. But it is more than enough, for a free game ^^

"May's Journey" is a somewhat ambitious and genuinely made attempt at a programming simulator, essentially one of those puzzle games where the solution is to set up a simple sequence of programmatical steps. It's presented with some rather mediocre 3D graphics, but it certainly beats the pants off the usual pixelcrap we see here on Steam. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry…

Great game for learning or brushing up on programming skills. The story, soundtrack, and difficulty level were well done, and my only complaint would be that we don't have a sequel to this yet lol. Would love to know how this story ends, hopefully a second installment is in the works!

I'm liking the game so far. Each puzzle is non-repetitive and adds a little something, involving the surroundings intimately into the puzzle. This is great immersion. I like the story, it is light and thoughtful, I wonder what happens next for May...how is she stuck inside this world? For learning programming I think it's a great intro, and it provides great feedback on what errors you made in your script for easy guidance.
