XD[/h1] [h2]Introduction[/h2] [i]Medetashi Medetashi[/i] is a cozy, fantasy point-and-click, visual novel developed by たけの野々and published by VNka. You take on the role of a nameless cat, whom you can choose to name, and you're one of the characters in a fairy tale who witnesses the heroine of the story get attacked by a giant monster. Assuming that you choose to investigate, you soon discover that there's more to the heroine than appears at first glance, as she's able to leave the story and travel to another. What will happen as you travel from story to story in search of the heroine's secret? :o As for the gameplay, choices are presented although with an exception of one at the beginning of the story, they're pretty inconsequential. The main aspect is the point-and-click elements. A brief tutorial is shown in regards to interacting with items and such. Also, several puzzles are present in which you have to put your thinking cap on in order to solve them. Several CGs are present, but at the time of this review, no Steam achievements or trading cards are available, and the game won't count towards a user's global tota…

I want to be clear: I don't think there's an issue with the game itself: it's a fun little story, it's short and sweet, the adventure elements are good. No problem there. If that was all there was to it, this would be an easy game to recommend. My issue is with the port, which has several issues: 1. All music missing except the BGM for the end credits (the credit sequence itself lists credit for several tracks, meaning that this is clearly a mistake) (EDIT: this specific issue was fixed in a patch as of 6/13.) 2. If you use the keyboard to select your item, and you select a slot not occupied by an item, it does absurd things to your screen that can't be fixed without a full restart. 3. I wasn't able to reproduce this consistently, but sometimes, if you're in the hints menu and click off of the game, when you come back, the game won't accept any keyboard or mouse input, and you just have to restart the game. 4. Sometimes, options in the main menu become unselectable, such as the settings, or the "!" bookmark that lets you read the short fairy tales that make up the game's settings. 5. There appears to be an unexplained auto-solve, if you press the "Hint" button while a puzzle …

Medetashi Medetashi is a simple point'n'click adventure game presented as a visual novel. The story, dialogues and characters are fun, the art beautiful and some of the puzzles are actually pretty good. Medetashi Medetashi combines a visual novel and a puzzle game. As a cat, you follow the girl through different universes and solve riddles. Sometimes you need to combine items, interact with the environment, or type in answers.
