At the cost of "free," you've got nothing to lose (but time) playing this! Especially if you're a youngin' or incredibly new to gaming. It's a quick, breezy play, with straight-forward design and very low difficulty. I finished the whole thing in under half an hour without a single death (though I DID get close a couple times). I appreciate that the developers tried something unique with the charged weapon mechanic, and I genuinely enjoyed how the side-scrolling perspective SHIFTS--I'm a pretty casual gamer, and maybe that's why I've never seen that mechanic before, but I thought it was one of the cooler/better aspects of this game. I especially enjoyed it in one of the later levels where they pushed that mechanic to a greater extent. It's a cool idea, and seeing later parts of the level before getting to play them was cool. With that said, part of me feels "mean" for down-voting this: I have no desire to discourage burgeoning developers (I assume they're burgeoning since this was put out by DigiPen), and, it's FREE! A fantastic little game! It's a fun Run n Gun with a very unique attack and puzzle solving option in the tentacle whip, the aesthetics are cute, and influences are easy to tell (in the best way possible). My biggest gripe is the camera can feel disorientating with how it moves forward ahead of the player when moving then snaps back when the player stops, otherwise this is a fun short game and I look forward too seeing what this developer can make in the future.

I mean out of all the completely free games on steam (not free to play) this is probably my favorite if that means anything

Very short but OK game. Feels like a bit of a mix of Megaman and Sonic.

I took a long and defeated break once my google site had started to lag from so many reviews on one page, and the exodus to a new solution has been wrought with apathy and wander. Before I quit, I played the game to win and understand unto that end, and upon my return I did decide to play again, but I felt less compelled to reach the end, even though it's my favorite section. The first reason for this is that I died in the second level, and secondly I had felt that I recuperated the play from a few weeks ago, onto the writing from a few months ago. The world sets up an ambient tone of a diorama; Timber Wolf Lumber Services, the first level, has a surreal sense of scale that allows one to focus on the foreground and accustom to the gameplay, meanwhile the beach of Rock Lobster Co. is visibly coiled in on itself, which distracted me just long enough to jump into a pit and end my run. My memory of Dr. Squid will have to do: his first phase is eking out the potential of the environmental dressing as a proper level design, and the second phase is a direct pull from the rock and roll robot's discogs.
