About Nemesis: Distress

✦ AI summary

Survive a deadly alien-infested spaceship where you're the hunted prey navigating through sound-based stealth, secret objectives, and the constant threat of traitors among your crew. This semi-cooperative sci-fi horror experience forces you to balance teamwork with paranoia as you manage noise, find tools, and complete missions while staying alive against relentless extraterrestrial threats.

NEMESIS DISTRESS is a unique multiplayer Sci-Fi horror experience that aims at creating unforgettable, cinematic moments. Remember – this is NOT a shooter, in Nemesis you are not the hunter. You are the PREY.

What you can hope to achieve is to survive and complete your secret objective as well as main mission. But beware – in multiplayer experience you are not playing a full co-op. Any other player MIGHT be a traitor and will aim at sabotaging you.

Sneak your way around the ship, find useful items, take advantage of the noise mechanic and all the tricks around the ship.

Key Features:

True Horror experience

We wanted to craft a really thrilling environment, where every sound and movement around the ship will get you on the edge of your sit. There are different types of enemies, with the most dangerous Adult, that can one-shot you.

Unique semi co-op

You will need to find a fine balance between collaborating with your team-mates (as otherwise you will not survive) and not trusting them fully, as some of them might have some nasty secret objectives. This creates an interesting dynamic and add a bit of extra layer on the horror experience.

Noise management

Since the alien species on the ship is blind, you will need to be very careful about the sound that you make. But you can also use it to your advantage - throw items to distract enemies and sneak past them…
… or just use flamethrower to scare them away.

Fresh items idea

Since Nemesis is not a shooter, don’t expect too many weapons. Instead, you will have a different “arsenal” – noise detector, hacking tool or good-old pipe will come in handy in various situations.

3/10 ran poorly on highest and lowest settings. was playing alone finished tutorial play 1st level destroy 10 cocoons no idea what they look like or how to destroy them at no point well playing until i died did i damage a single one had a flamethrower and a shotgun. played another game and it was destroy 15 eggs. never found any tired to destroy a few things i thought were it both times but nothing was never able to find a heal of any kind both times i played - kicking does no damage to all the medium sized bug things, even thought in the tutorial you could damage them the same way and the game told you do do it... - pausing in single player does not pause

thought that maybe the problem was that the reviews were not up to date, but it just more a fun idea than a finished product. If they got their team together, rebuilt from the ground up, sure, could be really fun. not great, but could be pretty ok, but as it is, even a 9070XT on medium settings isnt helping the issues. i look forward to a polished product, someday.

I was excited to see this had some updates, thinking maybe it has fixed the issues and improved since I last played this years ago. It has not changed. In some ways, it's worse. The in game audio does not work at all. The malfunctions are still way too frequent, and if you are playing with less than 4 or if anyone dies, you are very likely to fail most of the malfunctions. You run to one side of the ship to solve it, and then start to head back towards the main objective, and within a minute another malfunction will pop up... on the other side of the ship. Good luck... The visuals still look like you are looking through Vaseline as well. I am glad they made it so you can use steam networking to play with friends, and it's less laggy from a networking standpoint. Though it does still suffer from the occasional stutters. Maybe in another 4-6 years... The bones of a great game though..

It's a great game. It could use a bit more love from the creators, though.
