Players praise the core necromancer gameplay concept, particularly the novel focus on commanding minions rather than personal character upgrades, and note that the difficulty scaling works well in early levels. However, they widely criticize the game for apparent abandonment in Early Access with stagnant development over two years, a bare-bones roster of minions filled with recolors, limited progression systems, and a late-game balance issue where enemy damage eventually overwhelms minion survivability. The consensus is that while the foundation is solid, the devs failed to capitalize on the u
TLDR: Good early necromancer gameplay, but being abandoned in Early Access means you should avoid this.

PROS:
➕Has some great necromancer gameplay
CONS:
➖Abandoned in Early Access (?) ➖Very clearly in a beta state
Final Verdict – [EA/10]
Another prime example of the risks of funding a game in Early Access is Never Mourn, which has seemingly been abandoned. This is a shame, because the few games I played, it has some neat features that I really liked. The necromancer-style gameplay is great here. Shifting constantly between offensive spells to take down priority targets then swapping over to healing to maintain your army or spawn in new minions, this is a good gameplay foundation that I’d love to see expanded upon. Unfortunately, the game is very clearly in a beta state. Typos everywhere, UI is barebones, animations, monsters clipping through environment….and it looks like most of this will never be resolved. As far as I can tell, devs mentioned an update coming at the end of 2025, then its been radio silence for months. No update in ~18 months. Even their Discord is pretty dead. This is an easy avoid, as it seems…5 found this helpful
Yet another abandonware Early Access scam.4 found this helpful
I can't even tell if these devs are still working on this game, but this serves as a perfect example of why I don't buy early access games. I thought that two years would have given it enough time to be polished but I was wrong. This game is empty and very boring. It's so sad because the idea is great; but the devs didn't even take advantage of using this cool idea! There are so many survivor games where the main character is the focus for upgrades, so adding the aspect of minions being the focus was something refreshing and could have been great. Again, the devs didn't capitalize on it; and if they planned to, they certainly had the time to show it after two years. There are 5-6 different minions before they start using recolours as "diversity". Honestly man it really is not that hard to come up with different enemy types. There are a hundred thousand ideas out there to take inspiration from. I know that game development is hard and takes years of time, especially when you're a small team, but you don't get to use that excuse when you early access your game. You decided to try and cash in on your idea instead of waiting for it to be fully flushed out, and I guess you got m…3 found this helpful
The game hasn't had any changes in for ever and eventually you run into a critical mass of enemies where they simply outdamage your minions so hard that you end up with nothing left. It has a meta level progression with unlocks but that progression is ass, some levels do not even give anything. Also has a rather boring talent tree.3 found this helpful
Great game with great potential. Buy it if you love to play as a Necromancer!2 found this helpful
Pretty cool game. Balanced with the right difficulty spike each level.
