GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon

This game is too easy, l would expect other difficulties

Hardly playable. A cheap knock-off of Dead Cells with none of the fluidity and variety that makes it fun. Artstyle, creature design can be very good but the environments are just sticks and stones. I hope I'm never put in a situation where I'm supposed to play this game again.

I wanna make things very clear, im not a fan of most rogue likes in general just for the nature of having to replay the entire game again. Has to be absurdly unique and doesnt severely punish you with a hard reset for me to thoroughly like and finish it. From what I played, this game is good. Made it to the 2nd boss with 1 hit. This is a difficult game and taking major damage comes easily. This could be a great game for those that are interested in this type of game.

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is one of the worst Roguelike i have ever played it's one of the slow is games to unlock skills and some of the skills are random drops and the skills upgrade cost are higher then they should be.

Surprisingly compelling take on Dead Cells. It suffers from all the things that ultimately bugged me about Dead Cells (runs can take a long time, exploring every inch of every level can be tedious, the combat feeling somewhat limited in terms of movesets), but there's just something about Getsufumaden that I keep coming back to. Some of it is the aesthetics, with graphics and music that go hand-in-hand in terms of creating a mystical ukiyo-e demon world, but the moment-to-moment combat is what really does it. Every fight requires focus as you figure out how to squeeze your limited moveset into killing stuff that tends to have some combination of better positioning and some dominating abilities that force different approaches. Throw that into mixed mobs and the fights end up feeling fairly tactical. On top of that, the difficulty scaling is done well, where higher difficulties add new levels with new enemies, and new moves to old enemies, forcing new approaches. The net result is that I actually look forward to unlocking higher difficulties because they refresh old content in ways that aren't just dodge skill checks.

Art is gorgeous combat is weapon dependent, there are parries and backstabs, but it can get very repetitive depending on weapon, some enemies just force you into a specific playstyle according to what you are using, you have 2 main weapon slots so probs not an issue but that makes half weapons not interesting for me. I have not heard much about this game at all, didnt even know it was a roguelike (dont remember why I even have this). the loop is split in "do I think I can beat the game or do I have to go back to not lose all the materials I got" which at the start probably means beating 3-4 levels and going back as you are focused on improving skills and what not. Easy difficulty makes it easier to grind but you cant get the ending with it overall, was fine, not sure I would complete it though, I dont think there is much else to see for me besides the last boss which eh.
