New Century Galaxy Legend is a game that is rife with competition from all corners of the Earth. All who are willing to throw their hat in the ring are given equal opportunity, owing to the game's lack of a price tag. With it, the player is given a game attempting to emulate an old-school arcade machine, with 8-Bit renditions of classical music to accompany you. The game is so bare bones in fact, that there is not even an option to play with your full screen. You can change the volume of the music and toggle the language between English and simplified Chinese. Other than that, the game is intended to be played in the way it comes installed. It looks like, and plays like, a mobile game from 2014. Ordinarily, I'd open a game like this, play it for about 10 minutes or so, then close it, uninstall, and never think about it again. However, in this game there exists a World Ranking system that encourages the player to keep playing. This is by no means a new concept. However, what makes New Century Galaxy Legend special is the notably small player base that makes some interesting trends in the leaderboards. "New Century Galaxy Legend" is a deplorably low quality wave survival/avoidance "bullet hell" game... basically the developer tried to make a shoot 'em up but couldn't work out how to make the player shoot bullets. Game development is hard, I guess. So what's left is a toothless wave survival dodgeball game. Heck, the developer couldn't work out how widescreen monitors work, either. I wonder why this was a complete and utter failure? I guess we will never know. What do you do in the game? Move around. That's it, seriously. Fun. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. i've already played for too long, and i will play for longer. however, you should not, this is a boring bullet hell dont play unless you feel some utter insane compulsion to hit the leaderboards
