"I was also inspired by the early Resident Evil titles, but wanted to challenge myself to make it feel like a first person styled early RE title. What I mean by that is to require headshots on the zombies to kill them (which can be difficult to do without any fixed aiming!), and to keep the zombies slow and menacing. Most games seem to go with fast zombies in hordes but I wanted to keep this a tense, deliberate combat experience." - Jordan King
You’ll play as David, a quiet man whose wife recently passed away, and is living alone in his seaside apartment with nothing to lose when a zombie outbreak ravages upon his city and disrupts his normal every-day life. After gathering his thoughts, collecting a few weapons, and meeting up with other survivors, David realizes that he must fight his way to the truth behind the apocalypse, by gunning and slashing through the hordes of zombies.Escape the city by solving puzzles to unlock new areas, while collecting resources and fighting zombies, which can only be taken down with a shot directly to the head.

A little janky, but overall a good time. Worth it for Booty Creek alone, which is very funny.
"Night At the Gates of Hell" is a fusion between a PSX-style horror game and a straight-forward horror-b-movie. That said, it constantly changes between crude moments of tasteless cruelty (I highly recommend putting the censored-mode on in case someone's watching over your shoulder) and - in fact - great atmospheric horror moments. I truely like to explore the town, search for the next key to an appartement, and - indeed - have some descent shooting versus the zombies. "Night At the Gates of Hell" blends all this, adds scary moments, and presents all this in kind of episodes (you might first think you can all do this in one sitting because there's no save option, but once you got the TV-zap effect, you know you can access the unlocked next level from the main menu). I don't know many PSX-styled horror-games so far, but if you ask me "Night At the Gates of Hell" would be a good start for an adult audience (and don't try to let yourself go away from the game after the really disgusting intro episode with the girl ... it gets better ;) ).
Lucio Fulci simulator. Above average in length for this type of game too. Awesome and highly recommended.
As a massive Fulci, Romero, and general Italo Zombie fan, I absolutely adored this game. It is chock full of references, including a particularly memorable one from Burial Ground (1981). I highly recommend it to anyone who is as fanatical about those films as I am. Even if you just like the PS1 style horror aesthetic, don't mind some camp, and enjoy shooters, I'd recommend it. There is so much wackiness going on. It also ran great on my potato pc (decade old, basically ancient laptop) which is an added bonus. Can't wait to replay this one again soon. It's also relatively short and sweet, just like the best horror movies are.

It's crap, but in the best ways possible. It's a jumpscare heavy, incredibly jank horror adventure inspired by the low budget Italian horror films of the 70s/80s such as City Of The Living Dead, The Zombie Dead, Zombie Creeping Flesh, Zombie etc and so on. Very exploitative, quite immature and made for people who love tongue in cheek parody with very bad taste, of which I am and I enjoyed my time with it. Should be said that it isn't as good as Bloodwash, but still a fun little romp.
